I just installed this and it seemed very straight forward, for me. I have installed a few of these over the years so it was fairly simple to install. The package came intact without any damage to the box or the internal items. All items were there and has a great booklet with decent instructions. I like the design and how it fit into the rig. I will be testing this out in the next few weeks and will come back and update my review. The only question/concern I have is that the wired/wireless controller is one in the same and seems to work great. They sent a battery that I assume is for the controller and the controller is already working wireless....the only question that I have yet to answer is "How do I charge the battery for the controller?". There is nothing in the documentation that speaks to it, if the extra battery is for the controller (logic says yes), how long the battery will last. The concern here is how does one keep the spare battery with you and not lose it and how long will the wireless last? Can you buy spare batteries for the controller? I haven't I stalled this yet but since there weren't many reviews, I'm posting this and will provide updates. Winch came in a box (well packages) for the 13.5K lb winch but it is a 12K lb winch. For reference, all components (except controls and control cable) weigh 55.7 lbs. Dimensions are 21.5"Wx9.75"Hx6.25โ€D. I'm mounting it in a DV8 FS-14 bumper and it looks like it will fit fine. As soon as I get it installed and tested, I'll provide an update. 1/28/23 Update: Winch is installed and operable. Although there are no install instructions, it went easy (never installed one before). The remote has a rechargeable battery and has to be charged while plugged into the winch. I'd rather have one with replaceable batteries. I took a picture of the instructions that came with the cable and controller. Upon reading the manual, the maximum capacity duty cycle is 45 seconds operation then 14 minutes and 15 seconds rest. I don't know how this compares to other winches but seems like a short operation time. Next update will be putting it to use. ... show more

Variety of reviews. I suspect the bad reviewbcame from people that aren't familiar with using a winch, and didntvget gears locked in correctly. Or didnt supply high enough amperage, ore didnt give the winch cool down time. 45 sec use, 15 sec for cool down. I expect years of use out of mine. I haven't used it yet. So I cantvgive a true rating. I like the winch rope. Spools better and wont pich cable. It all seemed well made, and discommect to free spool out rope was smooth. Not something I will use very often. But expect it to do its job. Will update when I do use it. Should becsoon with winter getting closer. ... show more

I took a chance with "new in used condition" for cheaper. Saved me a couple hundred dollars, the winch was unused and never mounted. All bolts and packaging was there and unopened. Used the winch 4 times now and it's badass! Had it for a little over a year. Would definitely buy another

Rugcell needs to start selling with directions. I found the waterproof connectors a pain to install. I donโ€™t care for the hook. It doesnโ€™t open enough to go around a 3/4โ€ d ring and close. If Rugcell made these improves it would get a 4-5 star. It seems to be worth the money. It does look nice.

I donโ€™t usually write reviews, but Iโ€™m frustrated. This winch worked great once. Then we got hit with 2 hurricanes. My jeep was totally destroyed but the winch survived, so I put it on my new Jeep, but the remote was lost and you canโ€™t use it without the remote. Iโ€™ve been emailing the company four times and no one will respond. So Iโ€™ll have to buy a new one and will buy from a different company. ... show more
