Features

  • High Efficiency: Our planting auger for a drill is designed with two upgraded bits, a steel cast head, and a flat triangle, making it strong enough to plow deep or through difficult soil. It's recommended to use at least a 14V cordless drill for optimal performance. With a 2-inch bit that can be used with any 3/8 inch or chucking bits, and a 4-inch bit that can be used with 1/2 inch or chucking bits.
  • Versatile Auger Drill Bit: This auger is perfect for planting bulbs, potted plants, vegetables, flowers, bare root trees and shrubs, turning over soil or planting boxes, mixing seeds, soil, fertilizer, and even digging holes for fence posts, ground lights, outdoor flashlights, and umbrellas.
  • High-quality Material & Easy To Use: Our auger drill bit is made of the highest quality steel and features a bright green paint that makes it easy to find in your back garden. The auger and drill do all of the work, and all you have to do is drop in the bulb! For vegetable plants, the 2-inch x 16 or 4 x 16 attachment is perfect for digging deep planting holes. With our bulb auger for drill, you won't need a gardening shovel, and you'll save a lot of time and effort.
  • Easy maintenance: To extend the life of your auger drill bit, you'll want to clean it after each use. We recommend removing the bit from the drill and giving it time to cool off if it's a bit warm to the touch. Shake off any loose dirt and debris and then use a toothbrush to remove the remaining dirt. Wipe the drill bit clean with a lint-free cloth and store it in a location that experiences low humidity.

  • Had to Plant a Tree
Color: light green
I had to dig a 3' wide by 3' deep hole for a 25-gallon tree. My backyard is very rocky and very hard, as is a lot of the soil in Tucson, AZ. I needed to go deep to improve the drainage. The smaller bit worked better as I was getting used to using them. Please also read the negative reviews to learn what not to do. If you will be digging in hard rocky soil, I recommend a cordless drill where you cannot put too much power on the auger. Also, if you can, use one with a torque setting so the drill will not damage your wrist or hand when it hits a good-sized rock. If you have to use a corded drill, keep the power level down a bit until you have mastered how to handle hitting rocks. ... show more

  • Rugged and tough
Color: light green
I used auger on rocky soil. I did help it a bit by removing large rocks but it helped immensely. The holes I dug were to place PVC pipe about a foot deep. Added Quickcrete cement around the pipe. The PVC serves a ls flag pole holders for our local Kiwanis group in El Paso TX.

  • You will most likely need an adapter
Color: light green
Auger works fine but read the fine print. The larger 4" bit has a shaft diameter of 0.4" which is more than 3/8" and consequently it will not fit a common 3/8" chuck drill without an adapter. The first paragraph of the product description does warn you about the need for a 1/2 chuck drill for the 4" but if you only read the main title saying "For 3/8" Hex Drive Electric Drill" you may miss this detail and waste time looking for an adapter or for a drill with a wider chuck. BTW, for the 4" bit you will need a metric 10 female adapter (not 3/8" or 7/16") to go over its 0.4" shank. You will need some force to push the adapter over the shank since the 10 mm shank has a coat of paint, which adds a little to its thickness ... show more

  • Kicking Myself for not Getting it Sooner
Color: light green
My back yard is rock with soil scattered in-between. Every time I want to plant some potatoes, tomatoes, an occasional tree, I brace myself for hitting rock after rock. When putting up Christmas decorations, I've taken to using a drill to prep the ground for putting in stakes. Still, I held back on getting these augers. Not sure why, but it was dumb. Planted 9 flowers today and after figuring out not to just drill into the ground, but to drill down a bit, pull the drill up to loosen the dirt, drill back down in a smooth motion, it was unproblematic. Even better, the long shaft meant my back was pretty happy too. I love it! ... show more

  • Works great!
Color: light green
I used the large auger bit to plant some elephant ear tubers a couple weeks ago. The bit worked beautifully. My one bit of advice is so not even attempt to use the large bit on a cordless drill. You will drain multiple batteries on one hole. Use a corded drill from the jump. Don't be like me and have to dig out the corded drill and extension cords mid-job. Great product I'll use it again for tulip bulbs in the spring ... show more

  • Caution
Color: light green
The smaller auger if it’s my drill perfectly and works so good! I’m totally in getting a kick out of using it. But be warned that the larger auger does not fit a standard drill. I almost returned it over this but then realized you can buy an adapter. I can’t tell you what adapter lol because I still need to figure that out. Read other reviews and they will give directions. ... show more
