I purchased this unit to replace a window AC/Heater. . The window A/C was loud and expensive to operate. I was concerned that the ROVSUN 9000 btu 115 volt might be too large for the area. But it does an excellent job of cooling and heating the space. I purchased it during the summer of 2024 and now we are into winter and it is doing a great job of keeping the specific area in perfect temperature balance. The system is virtually silent. I cannot tell that it is running. The inside condenser/blower system is stylish, but looks a little large on the wall, not so much that it is a problem. I have detected no problems in moisture, or condensation when it is running with the outside temperature at 90+ degrees and 70% humidity. We live in Florida and the summers can be brutal. It also has reduced the cost of electricity by almost half for this area.I would buy another one in a heartbeat. I hired a professional installer to put in the unit. I was with him the entire time and the installation looked straightforward and easy. The installation requires some specialty equipment. A vacuum pump, gauges, etc. Items that are not normally found in a home tool kit. But if I had had the specific items and the correct training, while I pride myself on being very handy at building and installing things, I think using a professional to install this unit was the right choice. To start the unit came in two shipments no surprise, slight damage to cardboard boxes on both. A few minor dings on exterior unit, and minor damage to aluminum fins. Nothing major or enough to try to return it. (Used credit cards to straighten some out) On to install, read everything, then read again, watch a few U-tube videos on it. Don't rush, think it over / plan it out. Figure out where to install inside unit and make sure lines are able to reach where you are placing outside unit. Moun wall bracket drill hole in wall for lines. Install inside wiring for it ( follow instructions) carefully bend copper lines to fit though hole and drain line. Guide though hole, install insulated lines with sealant (some was included "I bought a bottle in advance 🤭") don't ham fist fittings. Install/ locate placement for outside unit, hookup lines to it using sealant too. Hookup exterior wiring to unit and exterior power disconnect. Pressure test lines "checking for leaking at fittings" and purge "vacuum lines" disconnect vacuum pump and replace cap. Remove other caps release gas into system, replace caps on valves. Turn on power, go test system and enjoy your new A.C / heating unit. "I couldn't hear it running and thought it wasn't working" at first until I noticed it blowing curtains and cool air. Side note on remote there is dip switches in back where batteries go that control A.C./ heating. Now I noticed a substantial difference in power usage from other air conditioning units. In prior 5 weeks I had used around 600 k.w. now with this unit I had only used 8 k.w. in 2 days with temperatures over 95° F outside and inside temperature with it a 69-72° F. VS keeping inside temperatures 72°-80° F with other air conditioner. A friend of mine who has a different brand mini split that cost him 3 times as much. I will try to update after I have used it for some time. 3 Sept 2023 Update: I've been tracking my power usage for last month now and have reduced my usage by 3 KW a day or more. The temperatures have been up 100f and it's been keeping the inside temperature down to 67f at times, I've had to turn unit up due to getting cold. 🙂 having the unit set at 74 or 75f the cabin stays about 2° cooler than unit temperature setting. Wonderful to be able to come inside to cool off. 8 May 2024 Another update. After use though a "winter" I use that loosely "living in Southern state" but I did have some cold weather down well below freezing. It did perform OK for heat, but I did crank on the propane heater some. I used less than 20 lbs of propane though. I've already had to turn it on for A.C. a week or so now. Cleaned air filters a few times too. Definitely don't let them get clogged up with dust, pollen and dirt. Still saving money with it. VS other options. I used not even half of the power as last year. So in general it has cut the electricity usage in half or better. " the blue tab" in 3rd picture is some painters tape I have to clip on air freshener to, and to be able to see if it's running. First off I was hesitant about this company. Not a lot of reviews and sort of unknown by my peers, but this was hundreds cheaper than other brands. I ordered the 12000 btu unit and it arrived in 2 big boxes. I believe the shipping company may have shipped it upside-down, as it arrived on its head for the outdoor unit. This is important as after the installation I had some issues. Installation was pretty straightforward and not difficult. The biggest issue was figuring out my homes older wiring process, so I verified with a mulitmeter and connected to a cutoff switch connected to main power fuse box. The other issue was putting a hole in the wall of my living room. The instructions were laid out pretty good, I also measured a few times and made a template for the hole placement for the drain and high and low pressure lines. Mounting was easy, just like hanging anything with weight into the studs. Wiring for the indoor unit was easy as well as the connections for the outdoor electronics. Pretty smooth altogether for installation. Everything was included for connecting and insulation. I would however suggest getting an outdoor cover for the lines, hose and wiring insulation to pretty it up and protect it from the sun. I had to build a stand with a small roof on it to protect the unit as well as keep it off the ground becuase I dont want my dogs to mess with it. I was so excited to get everything connected, leak tested, pressure tested and properly evacuated as recommended in the manual. This worked wonderfully!!!... but... **I did have an issue with the outdoor unit that I recieved which worked for a few days then started blowing warm air. We are starting to have summer days in the triple digits and I was not happy... I contacted the seller and requested a solution or refund. We went back and forth (mostly due to the message method of contact as well as the time difference) But the seller responded quickly, offered solutions, had me do some basic troubleshooting and kept in touch. They sent me a replacement outdoor unit as we agreed and within 4 days or so, I recieved it, installed it to replaced the first one and Voila!!! Amazing, much needed, cold air!!! I would hightly recommend this product and I will definitely be purchasing another for another part of the house. Great product, inexpensive and wonderful customer support. ... show more
