Protection against overheating - Excellent heat transfer properties allow heat to transfer more effectively, protect against freeze and boil-over and help keep engines running cool 2. Corrosion protection - Corrosion inhibitor technology protects metals against all forms of corrosion 3. Maintenance savings - Technology helps extend coolant life and prolong the life of seals, hoses and other cooling system components - helping reduce overall maintenance costs ELCs are designed to go 600,000 on-highway miles (and beyond with proper monitoring) and provide overall reduction in cooling system maintenance. ELCs also offer complete cooling system component protection by helping to reduce water-pump failures, hard-water-scale deposits and silicate gel (the green goo you sometimes see).     • Great Coolant, Long Lasting, Too
This coolant, by the Shell Oil Co is long lasting and doesn't require additives until after the 2nd year. It contsins no silicates. It doesn't seem to be stocked by the big box stores, but is easily available on Amazon. I've been using it on the manufacturer of my engine, Cummins.

    • Using in Ford F-250 6.0
Just flushed out the Motorcraft orange coolant due to age and mileage. Motorcraft no longer sells the orange coolant so I had to change. Read the reviews on this stuff and seems to be a good alternative. So far coolant temps are good, only time will tell. (Color is red)

    • Works great in my 6.0 and 7.3 powerstroke trucks
I'm running this in both my trucks, first was the 6.0. Really works well with that engine and cooling system, I also use t6 full synthetic in that truck as well. I know running the highest quality fluids in that motor help keep it clean and running strong and at 170,000 and no problems I'm happy so far. I run conventional rotella oil in the 7.3 and have the elc coolant in it as well, just rolled over 200,000 last week and running strong. You will never truly know how using these high quality fluids will help your truck or car, but the peace of mind using them helps ease the mind. I bought my trucks for my family as the last trucks I hope to purchase. So that's the best way to keep my mind thinking they will last me that long. I live in phx az so no worries about rust at all just keep up with the maintenance religiously. At a minimum I hope to get 500,000 out of them and hopefully closer to a million miles!! ... show more
