I have a 2018 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4. When towing a camper it was having a hard shift going up mountain passes with a camper and from 1 to 2 gear without a camper in tow. I removed 4oz of transmission fluid and put in 4oz of Lubegard, with in a few miles it started to smooth out when shifting from gear to gear and after even more miles ( 100 or more) it was completely smoothed out. My torque converter was locking up during low speed (its term is shuttering! I was afraid I was going to waste money on this product. Boy was I surprised! I put 2 of these in my 2013 ford police utility and the shuttering went away. The car runs and shifts with no more issues with the transmission. If you think you have a shuttering issue it’s worth trying before replacing torque converter and possibly the transmission (most service shops would try to get you to replace the transmission). ... show more

Awesome product. It will not work 100% of the time, but it does work. Depending on how far gone your transmission or torque converter is, it will either fix the issue or make the symptoms less noticeable. It worked well on my CR-V, which notoriously develop a shudder, because of the torque converter. For the price, I would use it on every vehicle I own, till a major transmission repair is inevitable. ... show more

    • A REAL, HONEST review from a self-proclaimed shadetree mechanic..
This is a real, honest review by someone who's actually bought and tried this product. I'm not compensated for my findings, I have no affiliation with the company, LubeGuard or it's product other than being a consumer and purchasing it for my own personal vehicle. I am a self-proclaimed shadetree mechanic. I do most of my own car maintenance and repairs in my driveway. I'm experienced with everything from basic oil changes, tune up's, even timing chains, lifters, fuel pumps, etc. I've always been too broke (cheap?) to hire professional mechanics for most things. My daily driver car, a 2007 Ford Five Hundred/Mercury Montego has about 147,000 on the clock. I really love the car, it's still a nice ride for it's age and milage. Naturally my heart sank when I experienced a "shudder/studder/hesitation". I once thought it was ignition related, so I began pulling spark plugs and coil packs in hopes of finding the culprit. I cleaned the throttle body, I cleaned the MAF sensor, I dosed the fuel with a heavy dose of Techron and Seafoamed the intake manifold. Nothing helped. Nothing really stopped it.. Until now. What I thought was ignition/fuel related turned out to be transmission related. Specificially, the torque convertor. I was experiencing TC shudder - and knowing how expensive transmission shops are, my heart sank a little. Ultimately TC shudder is a mechanical problem and the only real "fix" is to replace the faulty part. I could feel my wallet getting lighter already. Then, I stumbled across this product. For less than the price of a large pizza, I bought the "two tube" pack with the thoughts of dosing it hot and sending it. What happened next defies my logic as a shadetree mechanic. Never in my life have I ever experienced a "fix in a bottle". This stuff though.. Ha, let me tell you. Blew my mind. It worked, atleast, on my drive to work this morning it did. Theres a certain spot in town that my car always, ALWAYS shuddered. Always. The speed, the load on the engine, everything in this location was always just right to initiate the hesitation. This morning though.. I felt nothing. Just a smooth cruise right on into the office. Now I'll go on record and state this is NOT the only thing I did. I also simply drained the transmission (did NOT flush, simply drained what was in the pan), refilled with fresh clean fluid, and two tubes of this stuff. I don't imagine the transmission fluid alone helped it. I suspect the magical red unicorn blood in the tubes played a part, and I'm cool with that. If you're experiencing transmission shudder.. Do yourself a favor and try this stuff. If it works, you've just bought yourself some time with a bandaid that actually works. If it doesn't, atleast you know you tried something that has an actual track record of providing results. UPDATE: Approximately 700 miles in and still smooth as silk. Mind is still blown. UPDATE: Approximately 1500 miles in, still perfect. Zero sign of shudder. UPDATE: Today is 9/19/23 and I'm sitting at 152,000 on the odometer. Approximately 5,000 miles since the Shudder Fix. The car is still driving and shifting just fine, every bit as good as that first drive with it. ... show more

Used on 2001 Toyota Sienna. Used two tubes. I really do notice smoother shifting in this 300k miles van. The transmission has 225k miles on it. Still runs like a champ, trying to eke out as many more miles as I can. Tried this stuff after looking at other products. Really does seem to make a difference. I was surprised ... show more

14 camry had a shutter at low rpm kinda like if you changed gears in a manual to soon . Apparently those year camry had a problem with the trans tune or torque converter. If it's the tune it's 900 to fix so I was told about this product by a co worker . So I figured for the price i would try this before paying a fortune. Put one tube in and before I got out of neighborhood the shutter was gone . Been a year now and still no issues. I have a friend with same car and same problem.
