Softer than the curtain I was using before. I'm using it to divide space in the house for heat regulation and this works fantastically. It's decent at blocking light from one room to another if you care about that. I bought it for heat insulation for a hallway and it's doing a great job. These have such a nice smooth feel to them. They hang really nicely. We haven't had any sun so I'm not sure how much light blocking they will do but I know it will be a big improvement over my 2 inch skat blinds. I have to say , I'm amazed that a light color can actually block this much light. They feel out of the package so soft. They are used in my basement as a devider between office and spare bed room. We have ample windows. And still very dark during peak light

Nice curtains. But the beige I ordered is not even close to beige...more of a yellow or gold. Sent back. Wish they had a real beige color, but will need to look elsewhere.
