  • The listing changed, But I'll review the product I ordered.
I drive a Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6' bed. This tent is designed to sit in the back of a pickup, and it will pretty much fit any pickup no matter how long the bed, it just won't fill it obviously. The tent sets up quickly, unraveling from it's neat little sleeping bag sized roll, and one person can get it set up in just a few minutes. The concept is cool, and for wilderness camping, beach camping, desert camping, etc. it's convenient, and keeps you off the ground, which can be a blessing in areas like the desert of Nevada, or Arizona, where scorpions, snakes, and such are a fact of life. I travel cross country several times a year for business, and I take the long way to clear My head. I love sleeping in the desert! The first time, I simply slept on one of those folding military cots, right under the stars. With no sky glow, you can see what seems like a million miles out into space. it's amazing! Then I saw My first big, fat, ugly rattle snake in real life. Like 8 feet from me. Fugeddaboudit! No more sleeping 10" off the ground! So I started just sleeping in the bed of the truck. Now that the kids are older, My wife has finally agreed to accompany me on My next trip. she refuses to sleep outdoors under the stars however, So we got us this little tent, and when we head out to do a loop through Colorado, Utah, then down through Arizona in early July, That's where we'll sleep. I did have to agree to a motel every few days so she could take a proper shower, but if that's what it takes to get her to come with, I'm cool with that! It's not exactly the Taj Mahal, but it's a safe dry spot to sleep, and that's Golden! We gave this tent a precursory set up to check it out, and it seems pretty well made. It seemed like you might have to tie off some stringers to sort of shape the tent to the bed, But I ordered a box of 120LB Neodymium Magnets from Amazon. These will stick to the bed, allowing me to basically conform the tent to the bed of the truck as there is really nothing keeping the floor and low walls from bunching up. It's a cool solution for one or two people who want to "rough It", but not really go "full on Cowboy". ... show more

  • Love It
This truck tent is so much better for my needs than a regular ground tent. I'm plus size and have a really bad back, so it's hard for me to get up and down from a lot of the ground tents. This one allows me to easily crawl in and out without having to get on the ground. The tent is made with durable, waterproof material and is large enough to comfortably fit my husband, our 5 year old, and myself. It's great if you don't want to pull a camper and set up, or if you just want to do some primitive camping in a more comfortable manner. The large door makes it very easy to get in and out. It also is large enough that we can fit our air matress through. Inside the tent, there are 2 pocket organizers to store your phone, keys, etc, so everything is easy to find and conveniently stored. The tent has plenty of ventilation so that you won't get too stuffy. Besides for the larger door, there are large, screen windows on each side of the tent and then a mesh moon roof/window at the top. All the windows can be closed and/or covered in inclimate weather to keep out rain and moisture. The materials of the tent are very durable and the zippers open and close smoothly and easily. The poles are a sturdy fiberglass, however you should be careful during installation as to not snap them, as they aren't as flexible as the thinner ones. Installation varies, depending on your physical abilities and if you have help or not. The first time my husband and I put this tent together, it took quite a while because we just weren't familiar with this set up. However, the instructions are clear and helpful. After several uses now, it doesn't take us nearly as long, and if I had to, I'm pretty sure I could do it alone. This tent holds up well to wind and rain. We haven't been in any torrential downpours with it, but we have been in high winds and rain. We stayed dry and so did our items, and the tent was sturdy in the wind gusts. I will say that it's very hard to get everything back in the bag like it's intended. We just keep ours in a large bag that I had because it was too frustrating trying to fold it perfectly. It's just easier for us this way. It's not a big deal though as almost all our camping gear goes in totes or bags for easy access, organization, and storage. Overall, a very nice tent made with high quality materials. It has made camping more possible for myself and added lots of comfort in some very uncomfortable locations. ... show more

  • Disaster Weekend Saved By This Tent
I took a weekend by myself to go fishing and in doing so I forgot a few important things and while reeling in dinner managed to lose my phone in the lake. But I was not to be deterred. I was having a relaxing weekend one way or the other. Turns out it's hard to cook dinner when it's raining. Okay, I've got some MRE's in the cab of the truck. After "dinner", while a break in the rain was happening I decided to get the tent setup because what better way to test it than in the rain. Well, the tent was fairly easy to setup, I mean, for a first timer setting up a truck tent. Yeah, I was a little perplexed and frustrated at times, but I managed. My mood didn't help but I did get it setup and it's not what I would categorize as "hard". Repeat setting up will certainly make it easier. After setting up the tent it was getting a bit late in the day so I crawled in the tent and listened to my emergency radio until I fell asleep. During the night it did rain some more and the tent kept me dry. No leaks. Hallelujah. For me that was impressive and much needed. I finished my weekend and broke the tent down, which is never fun but I did manage to get it folded and rolled and into the bag. On the ride home I was thankful that one thing went right. The tent allowed me to get some much needed rest after the first day disaster. For that alone this tent is a recommend. Keeping me dry in the rain was the best I could hope for after being able to set it up. And this tent came through. It's a good quality tent and fit my 5.5FT bed perfectly. As far as value I'd give it a 8/10. Recommended. ... show more
