We bought this tray for our 4 year old to have on his new bunk bed. He is a huge fan and loves to have a place to set his cup at night. I probably didn’t read the description closely, but definitely a cheap plastic shelf. Though, I will say it is nice that it has the ability to fold when not in use. I love this! I'm so glad I bought it! I frequently sit either at the foot of my bed, far away from my night stand, or in a chair next to my bed and don't have a night stand on that side. This shelf is so easy to attach and detach if I want to move it. It supports the weight of my 40 oz stainless steel tumbler full and book, remotes, phone. I haven't noticed any give in it at all.     • Had to build a shim adapter to fit a metal bed frame.

The unit is well built and easy to assemble. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit the metal frame bed. I had to build a shim to make it fit. If the installation screws were longer, it would fit with out any extra trouble.

I use this on one end of my daybed or the other, or sometimes put it on the backrest. It's a wooden frame all around, so I easily move it from time to time. I like that it folds down, although I rarely use that feature. When I do, the drawer sometimes pops out, more from handling it than from component failure. I rarely have anything in the drawer, anyway. I wish the cup holder was closer to the back than the front so the drink wouldn't be in the way. I also wish it was easier to clean in the little "wood grain" grooves. It's a good addition and space saver for use in my RV. ... show more
