Description
Romeo Dwarf Cherry Tree produces the best cherries for making juice! A great choice for growers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Maine, and other Plains states. This might surprise you, but it’s true—you can make juice from the sweet, sun-ripened cherries from this dwarf variety. Romeo offers larger, sweeter and juicier cherries than Carmine Jewel, but it has the same great plant habit. You'll fall in love with this "sweet-talking" berry's deep crimson, full-sized, glossy fruit. For a tart cherry, it has incredible sugar levels. A self-pollinating cherry, Romeo is grown for its exceptional cold- hardiness, dwarf stature and high flesh-to-pit ratio. This means it gives you more fruit per pound with less weight from the pits. A single plant yields up to 25 lbs. of fruit, providing plenty of cherries for eating fresh, baking, canning and juice and wine making! Romeo grows up to 6 ft. tall and requires full sun. For best results, grow in well-drained, organic, sandy soil. Hardy in Zones 2-7. Developed over 40 years at the University of Saskatchewan. Sugar levels at 14 -16 brix. Potted plants are typically in a more porous media and require more regular watering until established. These are fantastic sweet/tart fruit. High anthocyanins. Due to state regulations, this item is unavailable in CA, CO, ID, OR, and WA.
