  • Professional Quality and Built Like a Bull
Shipping was fast and packaging good. But I had a issue with the first one. I reached out to Rolair and explained the problem and they immediately got to work getting a replacement to me right away since I had immediate need for it. The next day I was sent a email giving me the address for a local building supplier to go pick up a brand new in the box compressor. The second one has been great. I am a home remodel and improvement contractor and rely on my compressor almost daily, and demand a lot from it. The FC2002 has performed flawlessly. I chose a Rolair because of their reputation for quality and customer service. My decision was spot on because their customer service proved to be top notch. Fast, professional and very courteous. The performance hasn't had a single hiccup yet, even with running multiple nailers at once on it. The build quality is very good, the "Bull" is a fitting name. If I have any complaints its that number one, the air filter casing is fragile if hit from the side. Its just a plastic threaded nipple directly off the back of the plastic case and can easily be snapped off leaving the threaded nipple in the side of the cylinder head. I always point it out to my employees reminding them to be careful when moving it or wrapping the power cord. Second, its heavy! I bought this to be my "bigger" compressor in the field and also use smaller pancake compressors that is more convenient inside customer homes, smaller jobs and etc. Being heavy isnt a fault or flaw, its just something I wanted to bring to consideration. Its made to be a heavy duty professional grade compressor. It is the "Bull" after all! Other than the somewhat fragile air filter, I can find no fault with the compressor or the company that backs them. Great compressor and great customer service. I would buy a Rolair all over again without hesitation. ... show more

  • This would be one awesome compressor if not for it's hard ability to start ...
This would be one awesome compressor if not for it's hard ability to start in cold weather and it's finicky starting on GFCI or old home outlets. I have owned this for several years; it is heavy and powerful. I bought it because it was the smallest continuous duty compressor they offered and I wanted one compressor that could do most anything I wanted. I've used it for all sorts of things (construction mainly, spraying paint, etc) and it has never let me down once it starts. The trade off is weight, it's a monster to carry around. It could be that my unit has some issue that I should have had fixed, but it will pop its "breaker" in cold weather and with certain receptacles. I guess it has a large current draw to startup that some wiring can't handle. Starting it with the tanks open alleviates some of the cold weather starting issues as well. I really don't think you can go wrong with Rolair, they make quality stuff and their customer service is good should you need it. ... show more

  • Works OK but it is no Emglo
I bought this to replace an old Emglo. The pressure switch failed in about 30 minutes. I was able to figure it out and fix it. It came with a broken air filter also. Basically a Chinese made unit.

  • The best of the best .
Rolair has always been top dog for air compressors . I've owned several and still have 2 big ones. This Bull seems to be just as good . Only complaint, it has a hard time starting in cooler weather. Hopefully after its broken in a little more it will straighten out. Also it's not always tripping the breaker on it. Which is not good. But again, after I put a few more hrs on it I'm hoping it loosens up . Rolair is top of the line in my opinion. ... show more

  • Rolair FC2002 is great!
I really like this air compressor. It is quieter than I expected, and quickly reaches full capacity. The only con I can think of is the grip on the handle. As some reviewers have said, the grip digs into your hand. I'm not sure if it's designed this way in case the handle gets slippery, but I'm currently looking for a sleeve to fit over the grip. Again, not a big issue. ... show more

Unit arrived quickly. On arrival, there was a little oil in the box and the box was scuffed up, but the unit was in good shape. I think it was very little oil that spilled, but it can appear like more. The oil level was fine. I started it up and checked for leaks. There was a leak at the secondary pressure gauge. I tightened the gauge, and now It is leak-free, but the gauge is rotated so that the writing isn't vertical anymore. I have had difficulty myself getting a gauge to be aesthetically pleasing, and leak free, so I wouldn't score the item lower because of this. Speaking of the gauges, I could agree with others that the gauge placement doesn't provide the most convenient view. However, this is a portable unit, and the gauge placement in the center of the unit is probably ideal in order to protect them from being accidentally hit. I have used it for a number of projects. The most taxing task I've used this for is powering a palm nailer. When I'm in a cramped spot, driving 16d nails into pressure treated wood, the compressor has to kick on every 2-5 nails. I would expect this because this nailer should be operated with a higher cfm, but the motor has no trouble. It is heavy. If I'm moving it any more than ~10ft across a level surface, I have to pick it up and carry it with both arms, being careful when the motor is hot. It would be nice if they would build this with a 2-handed handle around the outside of the unit. ... show more

  • My 10 year old Hitachi does better than this rolair
Blew a breaker on start up at 40 degrees outside. Won't keep up with only 1 nailer. Definitely not what I expected. My 10 year old Hitachi does better than this rolair. As a roofing business owner i won't purchase again

  • It is relatively quiet compared to the oil-less compressors but I still like to keep it in another room if possible
I purchased The Bull about a year ago. I am a remodeler and a handyman so I use it for framing, finish work, building fences and even blowing drywall texture through a hopper gun. It has exceeded my expectations. It is relatively quiet compared to the oil-less compressors but I still like to keep it in another room if possible. I am constantly loading it onto new job sites and while it isn't light, it is manageable. I have had trouble starting it when it sits in the truck overnight during winter but that is to be expected. The gauges are situated poorly and are difficult to see. Some day I will probably rearrange them. All in all, I would highly recommend this compressor. ... show more
