    • I use it a lot more than I thought I would! I keep finding creative ways to use it.
The media could not be loaded. Pros: - USB Type C ! - Great audio - Great battery life - Easy to use - Software lets you copy backup audio from the mic if your camera missed it or doesn't have a mic in Cons: - Square shape is somewhat visible on some clothing without external lavalier plugged in - Getting files off of the microphone is a little tricky and time consuming (once they are in WAV/MP3 format though they are super easy to work with) So I originally bought this to do a little bit of on-camera YouTube content after doing a collaboration with my friend's YT channel where we used his two-channel RODE system. I use a few different cameras including one that does not have an audio input, so the on-board standalone recording feature is super important to me. I opted for this one-channel kit because I mainly produce content on my own, and normally just use the camera audio if multiple people are working on-camera. The receiver also works over USB, so I use it with my Pixel 7 Pro's camera app, as well as with my PC as an at-desk narration mic. I find that the mic works as good if not better than my studio mic and stand. I have not yet tested the mic input jack on the transmitter, but that feature should be incredibly useful for a number of different microphone setups. I use and trust this mic so much more than I thought I would, that I even used it in my proposal over the summer. My friends were able to pick up the mic audio from about a block away to check the levels through the aux-out while they recorded our special moment with a telephoto setup. We used the onboard recording function for this shot as the camera did not have an input and synced it up in Premiere later. Even with the wind on the beach, the audio came out super clear! 10/10 I would highly recommend this as *the* microphone for content creation of all kinds. ... show more

    • What you want for your Go Pro (except the Max)
Most Go Pro users will want a wireless microphone setup for their Go Pro. This is the one to get, hands down. You attach the receiver module to the Go Pro cold shoe (on the Media Mod) and then you can either use the microphone on the unit, or use a lavilier microphone as I do. For motorcycle blogging this is the only way to fly. The system pairs effortlessly as between transmitters and the receiver. You will want to download the Go Pro app before using in order to upgrade the bios and check settings. Very easy to do. Using this Rode setup with the Rode lavalier microphone has worked perfectly for me in my motorcycle blogging, and I totally recommend this setup. RJB. ... show more

    • May need a lot of accessories
Overall the mic works well. The issue is that it requires ALOT of accessories if you want to make sure that you can use all of its features, particularly if you already own a lavalier or you have an iPhone. 1) in order to utilize the app for iOS, you need to have an adapter to your laptop to accept USB plug to update both the mic and receiver. Then you need the proprietary rode SC15 cord to go to your phone in order to use the app. 2) in order to actually record sound, you need the iPhone lightening cord dongle and SC7 cord to be able to record sound. 3) If you have your own lav mic, make sure it is a TRS plug. If not, you will need to buy an adapter. I bought the TRRS to TRS adapter and it worked fine. Overall, the accessories just to get it to work cost $70-80. So keep that in mind. ... show more

    • Defective Garbage
I received this item, and I thought it was amazing. I tested it the night I got it, the sound quality was crisp and clear and it was so easy to use! 16 hours later, THE DAY I NEEDED IT, this defective piece of garbage stopped functioning altogether. The transmitter would not pair with the receiver under any circumstances. What an embarrassing product. Gave me nothing but an enormous amount of undue stress. Worth nothing to me.     • Sound quality is amazing and it's very easy to use!
I have been using this for about 4 months with my cell phone to record videos and it is amazing! Rode always puts out an amazing product and I love how compact this mic set is. If you want to improve the audio quality of your cell phone videos, I recommend you try this out.
