I've been using robot vacuums for many years, but this is my first time trying Roborock. My wife and I decided to switch from iRobot to Roborock for a couple of reasons: 1) we've heard great things about its intelligence and build quality in the past; 2) we needed a robot vacuum that can mop and self-clean. While the price was higher, we decided to give it a try and ended up buying two different models—one for each floor of our home. Here are the things which this S8 MaxV Ultra has impressed me so far: 1. App Setup: The app is very well-designed and easy to use. Setting up the vacuum was a breeze, and I can easily share the devices with my wife, so she has access to all the same information. 2. Mapping: I recommend letting the vacuum perform a quick mapping first rather than starting with a full cleaning. The map it creates is very smart and accurate. I can even set "no-go" zones for areas I don’t want it to clean, which works perfectly. 3. Self-Cleaning Mop: The vacuum automatically wets, cleans, and dries the mop. All I need to do is refill the clean water, add detergent if needed, and empty the dirty water. It saves me a lot of time. 4. Cleaning Track in the App: The app shows the cleaning path and time, giving me a good overview of how the job is progressing and helping me plan for next time. 5. Remote Control: I can control the vacuum remotely, which is great because cleaning normally takes over an hour. I prefer letting it work while I'm away, rather than having it run around when I'm home. 6. Suction Power: I haven’t used the highest suction setting, as my floors are wood and tile, and medium power is sufficient. As I mentioned, mopping is my main priority. The media could not be loaded. I’ve had the Roborock S8 MaxV for just three days, and it’s already made a great impression! The setup process was super simple and straightforward. The app walks you through everything, and it was ready to go in no time. I also love the design of the dock—it’s modern and stylish, not an eyesore like some other docks I’ve seen. The standout feature for me so far is the mop-lifting function. It’s perfect for my area rug, keeping it dry and clean without any hassle. The mapping technology is very impressive. It quickly and accurately mapped out my home, and the vacuum navigates around obstacles with ease.
