I bought no less than 6 robot vacuums to test this out. This is the one I ultimately decided to keep. I tested vacuums across all the price ranges and with all types of functions. I watched all of the vacuum wars videos and read the reviews intently. In the end, the Roborock S7 was the vacuum I selected. Pros: -Can use with just water (no requirement to pay for overpriced cleaning chemicals) -Mop feature is great and lift features works on all of my carpets -Navigation and mapping is the best I've tested -Varying suction powers and mopping intensities have allowed me to get the results I want -Roborock's app is the best I've used. I loved being able to put down where my furniture is and area rugs -Auto-emptying feature is something that can be turned off -Reliable and consistent, very rarely gets jammed or stuck -Easy to clean and maintain Cons: -Does not recognize my puzzle piece foam floor mats as mats. It treats them like carpet. Which is annoying because I would really like for them to get mopped daily -Despite having strong suction, it is not great on low pile rug with dog hair, I still have to go over our car track-themed low pile rug with a comb to pull the dog hair out of it 2x a week. The roborock seems to rub it further into the rug rather than suck it out. -I have it set not to bump into things but it doesn't get corners and certain areas as well as I'd like, I could probably reduce it's collision settings to get a better job but I find that vacuuming those corners and areas 2x a week when I already have to vacuum the stairs is okay for me. This is an area that much cheaper vacuums outperformed the Roborock in. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. I can legitimately say that having a robot vacuum has changed my life for the better. My house is so much cleaner, not only because its vacuumed and mopped daily but dust is way down. I can set the vacuum to go and do a quick clean before company comes over while I handle setting up appetizers or quickly wiping down the bathroom and surfaces etc. It really feels like we have a professional cleaning service coming in every day. I love it so so much. Any robot vacuum would make this incredible of a difference, but the Roborock was what we chose because of the mopping features and the reliability and ease of maintenance. ... show more

I have been absolutely amazed at this robot vacuum. I have been through 3 Roomba's and none compare to this Roborock. The only con I can think of is the price, but with how well this has helped keep my home clean I would purchase again. When it arrived I set it up, let it track the house and have not had any issues at all. I do a weekly maintenance check, cleaning what needs to be cleaned, fix any alerts that come through on the app. I empty the dirty water tank when it finishes mopping and refill the clean tank at the same time. I have had it now a bit over 6 months, I have 2 long haired cats that shed hair like you could not believe and are trackers with litter. The roborock has saved my sanity keeping up with the hair and tracked litter from these cats. When I bought the roborock I didn't really expect much but have been absolutely impressed with how this machine functions and I would purchase again in a minute. ... show more

    • My Favorite Thing, EVER
As a working mom, it WAS so hard for me to feel like I was doing a good job keeping house. July 2023 I splurged and treated myself to this and it is the best thing I have ever purchased. Mapping was easy, but taking the time to set boundaries and and floor types really helps. The upkeep to the dock and vacuum has been minimal. The app keeps adding new features, like a customization setting sso now each room's preferences are set without me having to choose modes each time. I love the no-go zones to keep it away from our charging cord station that always has dangling cords. The mop does a good job, but I do add solution. I didn't like the just water results. Our house is carpet and tile and this does a phenomenal job. The only thing that has tripped it up is the occasional nerf dart. We do not have pets, so I can't speak to how well it picks up after pets. If this broke today, I would buy a Roborock replacement immediately. It is definitely mommy's little helper! ... show more

    • Why is the upgrade so much worse than the s7?
The s7 was the best vacuum I ever had, my floors were consistently spotless. It died after 18 months of intense use- it would have been nice for it to have lasted longer but it was worth the investment even for that short time as I truly ran that thing into the ground. I chose to “upgrade” and it was a massive mistake. The self washing feature of the dock is gross to me, it “washes” the pad with a dirty brush, holds the filth water to ferment in a smelly tub; it’s difficult to change the pad as you have to turn over the entire unit, and you can’t even remove the water tank to be able to see if anything is growing in it or fill it yourself without it having to run through the disgusting dock. It just adds another handful of areas for bacteria and mildew to grow. It didn’t even matter though because my unit completely stopped working after the first couple of uses. $1k on a useless brick, and to add insult to injury the company made me carry the 40lb box to ups instead of arranging a pickup for the dud that THEY sent me. I ended up giving it another chance and purchasing an s8 without the dock and I’m honestly just really upset that I can’t find the s7 anywhere, because despite the exponentially better specs, the s8 is an unremarkable machine in comparison. My s7 never left behind a single piece of cat hair or litter after a single pass and the s8 can be run repeatedly on the highest speed and still leave little pieces of litter stuck to my feet. Safe to say I hate the s8 and get cranky every time i see everything it leaves behind. I was extremely brand loyal and borderline obsessed with my s7 but unfortunately since it’s no longer available I’ll be shopping other brands :( I would do anything for another s7, but this ain’t it. ... show more
