The Robelle Premier Winter Pool Cover is an extra heavy-duty solid winter pool cover. Solid pool covers do not allow water to pass through their material. The Robelle Premier Winter Pool Cover features an extra heavy-duty 12 x 12 scrim. The extra heavy-duty polyethylene material used for this cover weighs 3.26 oz./yd2. Both the scrim count and material weight are the best indicators of the strength and durability for your pool cover. This is an extra heavy- duty pool cover designed to protect your pool from the winter elements. The Robelle Premier Winter Pool Cover features a slate blue topside and a black underside. This pool cover includes a perimeter binding. Please order by your pool size, as the overlap goes beyond the pool size listed. This cover includes a four-foot overlap. If you have a very large top rail, please consider a larger pool size. This cover should be able to comfortably float on the pool water without excessive stress. This cover is not meant to be used as a debris cover during the swimming season. This winter pool cover is intended to be used during the off-season. This cover is meant for traditional above ground pools with a traditional top rail. Includes a winch and cable that should be used to secure your pool cover through the grommets around the perimeter of the pool cover. For extra securing, cover clips and cover wrap (both sold separately) are suggested for pool closing. No other method of installation is recommended. Includes an eighteen year warranty.

I initially used the cheap black pool cover that the local pool store included with the pool purchase and then replaced it after it failed after one or (at best) two seasons. There were always tears or, by the second season, grommets torn out of the edges, and the cover basically not keeping things out of the pool making the pool opening 10x harder (because of all the stuff in the water). Not with this cover! This cover is fantastic. It cost half again as much as the cheap black cover but is 100x better. Seriously. Nothing got into my pool this winter - I pulled the cover off and the water was as clear as when I put it on. No tears anywhere, no sunlight through any of it, every grommet around the edge like when it came out of the package - it is like a thick plastic tarp. It looks the same when I removed it as it did when I installed it. When I bought it, I thought I'd be ahead of the game if I got two seasons out of it. If it keeps up like it has this first season, I'll be getting way more than that. Get the Ultra - it's worth every penny. ... show more

*****NOT MADE IN CHINA***** This cover is made in Vietnam, which based on my initial view is a big plus. I have seen a lot of crappy covers over the past 21 years, and so far I am very happy with this one. This cover is by far the most generous in size of any cover I have ever owned. Most of the time they barely fit over the edge of the top rail. This one provides substantial overhang. In years past I have had quality control issues with grommets being bent, missing, out of alignment, or improperly spaced. Everything with this one is perfect. A little note about warranties in general for those who hold them in high regard. Having had a pool for the past 21 years I have come to recognize these so called 10 or 15 year warranties is nothing more than a flat out lie. Once I had a cover split apart along the main center seam after an arduous week of use. That particular seller would not accept a picture, but instead wanted me to repackage their garbage and mail it to them. All of which would cost roughly as much as a new cover. As such, I have no expectation whatsoever that I'll be able to collect on a warranty let alone get more than 2 years, 3 if I'm really lucky, out of any cover. The winters here in central New York are just too brutal. So I base my review on my initial findings with the cover. If it fails to make the 2nd year I'll downgrade the review. If it makes it beyond the 3rd year I'll also note that as well. Also I don't bother with the center pillow float anymore either. The foolish things deflate halfway through the winter and never provide any benefit. ***************************************FINAL UPDATE DECEMBER 10, 2018******************************************************* After the 2nd winter I noticed some areas had thinned. This is for Robelle 3328-4 Platinum Winter Pool Cover for Round Above Ground Swimming Pools, 28-ft. Round Pool. I kind of knew when I bought this cover it was going to be a one time use cover. The material is thin but did not rip, tear, or punture while in use. And that is with northern Illinois winter and winds. Kept the water in the pool as clean as the day it was closed for the season. The extra material adding to the 28' was very helpful to ensure it wasn't too small, putting pressure on the top rails or walls when the cover filled with rain and snow. The cable tightener is not the greatest but does the job and installation was very easy. After cleaning the first one of these I bought, after opening the pool in the spring, I could see the wear and the material thinning and did not want to chance it the next closing. I went from more expensive covers that had to be cleaned each spring and stored to using these for one season and getting a new one. This is the second one now I have purchased and will buy another to close this season if still available. ... show more

It's made very, very good we had a bad wind stom. Winds at 50 to 60 miles per hour. What I didn't like is that little wench that came with it junk. The wench and cable snapped and there went the cover. I went to Habor Freight and bought a hand wench got rope in case something happened I could cut it. Put cover back on tightened it down. Had bad winds again and cover never came. This is the first winter with this cover and I am very happy with it. My pool is tall so when I had to get the water off it I just thew the pump over and never got any hole from moving it around like. When this one is old I will be getting another one. ... show more

I purchased the Ultimate pool cover that had a 20 year warranty. It was supposedly a "premium" grade product that was supposed to be the highest rated cover. I figured anytime you buy a product like this it will likely not last a full 20 years, but was hoping to get 5-10 years of functionality out of the product. Unfortunately, my expectations were still too WAY high. After following the instructions that came with the cover, it seemed great. Putting it on and securing it was easy. However, in less than one winter, my cover had multiple holes and tears in the cover. And because the tears were not along a seam, I was informed that it is not covered with the warranty. I was told that this considered normal wear and tear. I understand small holes will happen on occasion, but I had multiple holes big enough to put a fist though. The one pictured is multiple feet long. If this is "normal wear and tear" I guess I do not understand the purpose of purchasing a cover with a 20 year warranty. There is no way it will last that long. In the end, I am extremely disappointed in the cover quality and the service when trying to file a warranty claim. If the quality of the product is low enough that it will not last one full winter, I cannot recommend that anyone should purchase this cover. Recommendation: Do Not Buy ... show more
