  • Our Little Ones Love It
We are big on board gaming in our house and it’s always nice to find a game that all of us can play as a family. The rules are super easy so our 3 year old was able to participate. Our 6 year old was calculating ways to beat us, so he understood the point system easily. As adults, we had fun as well. We highly recommend it for gaming families. ... show more

  • Simple to teach but layers of depth make this strategic!
At first, I thought that the game was just too simple to please a group of avid gamers. I was wrong! Although the rules are relatively simple and can be taught in a matter of minutes, the game's strategies become evident once you start playing. There are different setups depending on the number of players and there are several diverse play elements that create an elaborate puzzle of choices that can be made each turn. Each player must reason through dual strategies: what tile can they take to further their goals WHILE at the same time preventing opponents from capitalizing on the prior move. As tiles are removed, everyone will attempt to grab a few more points while the game draws to a conclusion, but one wrong move and the game can end sooner than expected. Don't be discouraged by the name or theme of this game. It is not for little kids! You will not be disappointed if you give this game a chance. Rio Grande has made some classic games and this one deserves to be among them! ... show more

  • Very Fun Tactical Game with Very Little Learning Time
Thanks to Rio Grande's nifty player boards, you barely have to say a word to teach this game. It's all right on the board. Once you've taught players how to move the hedgehog on the board, game on! Every game is different as it's a variable setup each time. And it plays great at all player counts! 2-player is very tactical as each of your movements affects the other player while with more players you have to focus on yourself and trying to keep your neighbor to the left from scoring a bonanza. But it also helps to look ahead and make sure you aren't potentially setting a trap for yourself. All the components are great from the tiles down to the cute little hedgehog. This quickly became a family favorite and easily my most played game of the month. And that's because, even with 5 players, it shouldn't take any longer than 45 minutes. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Light entertainment
This game is best for the younger audience. Great gateway game for children. Love the theme and the mechanics couldn't be easier. Veteran gamers will want more complexity. Lots of randomness here.

  • Good game, low quality,
The game is really nice, very easy to play. The problem is the quality of this item. For the price you pay, you get really low quality item. Maybe like a $10 dollar quality.

  • So addicting
Butterfly was a complete surprise in our family. We thought it was totally a kids game. But then we played it as adults and have had a great time playing it repeatedly ever since. It's a quick game with a randomized set up that makes every game play out differently. There are interesting choices throughout with what to collect to get the most points you can while also figuring out what options you leave for others (so they can't get as many points). We have yet to play just one game - we always play a few times back-to-back. See our full review at TheBoardGameFamily. ... show more
