  • Amazon Ring Alarm: A Reliable, Easy-to-Use Home Security Solution
Style: with Ring Floodlight Cam Wired (White) a...
The Amazon Ring Alarm system is an outstanding choice for anyone seeking a robust, user-friendly home security solution. Having used it extensively, I can confidently say it delivers on its promises and exceeds expectations in key areas like ease of setup, usability, and monitoring effectiveness. Ease of Setup - One of the standout features of the Ring Alarm system is its remarkably simple setup process. From unboxing to full functionality, the system is designed with the user in mind. The intuitive step-by-step instructions provided via the Ring app make installation a breeze, even for those who may not consider themselves particularly tech-savvy. The wireless components mean there’s no need to drill holes or run messy wires, which is a significant bonus for renters or anyone not keen on extensive DIY projects. In my case, I had the entire system—including the base station, keypad, contact sensors, and motion detectors—up and running in under 30 minutes. The devices sync seamlessly with the app, and the process of naming zones and customizing settings is straightforward. The simplicity of the setup alone makes Ring Alarm a standout product in the home security market. User-Friendly Design - The user experience is where Ring truly shines. The app is intuitive, cleanly designed, and offers a wide range of features without being overwhelming. Arming and disarming the system is as simple as tapping a button, and the app provides clear real-time notifications whenever sensors are triggered or the system is armed/disarmed. The keypad is another great feature—it’s compact, sleek, and user-friendly. It can be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface, and the buttons are well-lit and responsive. The inclusion of multiple modes (Home, Away, and Disarmed) adds flexibility, allowing you to customize the system based on your routine. Monitoring Effectiveness - The monitoring service provided by Ring is impressively effective. While it leans toward being somewhat automated, it still offers a high level of reliability and responsiveness. Notifications are delivered instantly to your smartphone whenever an event occurs, and the system can be integrated with professional monitoring for a reasonable monthly fee. This means emergency responders can be dispatched if necessary, providing an added layer of security. The sensors themselves are highly sensitive and accurate, detecting motion and door/window openings without generating false alarms. I also appreciate the integration with other Ring devices and Alexa-enabled products, which creates a cohesive smart home ecosystem. For instance, my Ring cameras and doorbell seamlessly communicate with the alarm system, enhancing overall security. Affordability and Value - Ring Alarm is also highly cost-effective. The upfront cost for the equipment is competitive, and the optional monitoring plan is far more affordable than traditional security services. For the value it offers—comprehensive security, easy setup, and professional-grade monitoring—it’s hard to beat. Final Thoughts - Amazon Ring Alarm system is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to enhance their home’s security. It’s easy to set up, incredibly user-friendly, and highly effective at providing peace of mind. Whether you’re a homeowner or renter, this system is versatile, reliable, and a perfect fit for modern living. I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for an affordable yet robust home security solution. ... show more

  • Ring is da bomb!

I love my Ring system! Easy to install, DIY security system. For larger homes you will need more components. Setup was a breeze. I would suggest you use screws to mount yours sensors as some did not stay stuck for more than a few days but that's because the previous house owner used crappy paint. The components are quite rugged. I dropped the floodlight from 20 feet up. Twice (bad hands) and it still functions perfectly with no scratches or dings to the housing. Would I buy again? Yup bet and I did! ... show more

I’m handicapped & cannot get ti my door quickly. Also, no windows on main floor at front of the house. I’ve been able to see packages delivered, talk to people on porch and patio from my living room or bedroom. Unfortunately, it takes much too long to be notified if someone rings & leaves like UPS or USPS. They’re in the truck & gone before I’m notified so I can’t talk with them if needed. ... show more

  • Better than nothing, system does not age well
Style: with Ring Floodlight Cam Wired (White) a...
We bought a ring system in 2016 or 2017. It installed fairly easily, but the system never worked as expected and it gets worse every year. The first thing to cause problems was the doorbell. It was hardwired and should have been really reliable. It wasn't. In spite of being hardwired rather than battery operated, we kept getting dead battery issues. We constantly needed to mess with it. It would also from time to time have network issues in spite of the fact that it was located less than 10 feet from the main router and the wifi was being received by other devices throughout the house. Worst of all, it was impossible to use the system in liveview unless you switched to live view before it sensed motion. Once motion was sensed, it was impossible to switch until activity was no longer sensed. After a couple of months we just threw the worthless thing away, but figured the alarm system was still worth keeping. Well, the system has not aged particularly well. Two of the original devices have simply quit working. We have gone over and over the reconnect processes. This is greatly complicated by the fact that the pictured item in the instructions do not resemble the actual device. We follow the steps, as well as possible, but no reconnection. The device for the dining room door was the next device to simply quit working. We bought 2 new devices and tried installing each of them. In the app it shows all 3 devices as ready to install, but there is never a connection. There are still 5 devices that will make noise when doors are opened, but it is hard to say how long they will keep working. All in all, the system is pretty much a waste of money. The "help" available consists of pages of text that are not well coordinated with the actual app or the actual devices. In short, there is no real help available. We have been paying $99 per year for "professional monitoring" and, supposedly, for extended warranty and for help, but there is not any real help available--no email address, no answers to specific questions. Basically, the system is just one small step above having no security system at all. Particularly in view of the fact that we now have 2 points of entry that are totally unarmed. I would definitely not waste my money on this system again. The lack of any kind of proper support is reason enough to never buy any of these products again. In our previous home we purchased a system that lasted us for nearly 20 years without any problems. When our current contract expires we will probably be shopping for another system, but I am really disappointed and angry that we wasted so much money on a system that failed to perform as described. ... show more

This company lures you in with fancy tech and decent subscription prices. Then once you’re in they’re double the subscription price on you. They then will insult your intelligence by claiming they’re only changing the name and giving you new (worthless) features. Bait and switch.
