So as a person whose has a lung disease and have needed a mask for many years now, I finally took the dive to get one of these because winter. Normally I ride my bike during winter and use a face cover similar to this but without the filter. Because lung issues worsening, I've been taking off during winter months the face cover and then having to switch to a filtered mask. Now, I don't really have to do that, this is very warm. Like well done for its cost. BUT - the filter mask isn't completely sealed against your face like you'd hope it would be. It lacks alittle snugness around the nose area to keep it pressed against your face. And the nose piece doesn't aid much. Hopefully they R&D it alittle, perhaps make it elastic in the top? That way can stretch or reduce based on face structure. Otherwise a warm, good investment. ... show more

Got this for downhill skiing. Used it in -3° F weather. The carbon filter got damp almost immediately and was awkward after I pulled the mask down once. Hard to straighten out after I put the mask back up. The valves fell out almost immediately. By the end of day two I was still using it tom some effect but had to abandon the valves and filter. For another $13-$15 you can buy more valves and filters on Amazon but at that point you can buy a much nicer mask. It did keep my head warm and worked under a helmet. Sturdy other than the whole valve and filter thing. Would have been a bad choice if it wasn’t used at a resort with a lodge to duck into between runs. If you simply can’t afford anything else and aren’t camping or out on ling trails it’s probably fine. Anything more and I’d avoid it. Having already bought it I’ll probably go ahead and throw good money after bad to buy a bag of valves and filter material. End of day two I was using still using it without the valves and filter and it was ok for the most part but the weather was much warmer. A fleece balaclava or scarf would have done as well without any valves to lose. ... show more

There a plastic locking valves thru inside liner that come apart and easily lost. The liner is annoying as well it folds over.
