    • This is not an easy cover to put on at all!!

I got this cover to replace the one that got ruined last year. From the looks of it I thought this was going to be a great replacement for the one that I lost, but boy was I wrong. This is probably one of the worst ones I could have gotten. The set up of it is HORRIABLE!!! First thing you should do is put together the stakes, strings, and the hooks before you do anything. Make sure they are tied tight and secure to everything otherwise you will have problems the entire time . TRUST ME ON THIS!!! Then you having 2-3 people will make it easier to put it on but you don't necessarily need it. But then put the cover on your pool. Find the 2 (which they really need 4) elastic draw strings and pull them as tight as you can to secure the cover as best as you can. Then you need to walk around and SPACE OUT the stakes and the strings as evenly as possible. Then you attach the clamps to the hooks that are on the cover and pull the string a LITTLE BIT OUT!! DO NOT PULL THEM TAUGHT!!! other wise you will pop the hooks that are attached to the cover off and then are screwed. You need to leave a little slack in the string in case of wind because if you pull the string tight and the wind blows hard it will pop the hook off and then the cover will blow into the pool and it will defeat the purpose of the cover of being on the pool. Then another thing, they don't even give you enough stakes and hooks to go in every hook, they only give you a few, so you don't have enough to go around the entire pool to hold down the cover all the way. So you have gaps in the cover where wind can get under it and then it blows it up and then lift it up and then pulls the cover off the pool and into the pool. So it defeats the purpose of having the cover on the pool in the first place. Then you only have 2 elastic draw strings around the entire cover. Now I have an 18ft round pool so that does absolutely nothing for mine to keep it secure. This cover is not worth the hassle it takes to cover your pool and it does not do the job of covering your pool. You get more stuff in your pool then just leaving it uncovered. I had it on for a day and already took it off. Not worth the time or hassle. ... show more

This is a decent cover, but very lightweight. While the material and construction as nice and even, this is a single layer of thin material, secured with drawstring ties, plus plastic hook with string and stakes. There is no part of this cover that is made for a snug or tight tie-down for winter. We opened our pool early this year and use this cover to keep the pollen and other flying debris out of our pool. I check out pool every day and there has been no debris in the water and thanks to this cover we have avoided the algae outbreak that normally comes with the Spring pollen season. Put this on and storing is pretty easy even for just one person, much easier with two. We roll this up and store it on the fence supports for our 18' above ground pool. The water is still too cool for swimming, but we are seeing much higher water temps than we normally see at this time of the year. Expect that we will be able to start using our pool in the next couple of weeks when the temperatures get better. The price is good for a quality cover that is easy to use. I recently purchased the RICHIE 18FT Pool Cover for my above ground pool, and I'm really pleased with its performance. The heavy-duty 210D Oxford fabric is waterproof and feels sturdy, giving me confidence that it will last for many seasons. I love how the cover fits securely on my pool, thanks to the multiple pull loops and the included nails, hooks, and ropes. It's easy to install and remove when needed, and the storage bag is a nice bonus for keeping it safe when not in use. Since installing this cover, I've noticed that my pool stays much cleaner, with fewer leaves and debris finding their way into the water. It's a relief knowing that I won't have to change the water as frequently or spend as much time cleaning the pool.
