Received a generic white box with a Rhino Pad sticker on it. The pad was black and incredibly thin, barely thicker than weed blocker, maybe 1/16th inch in thickness at very best. When speaking with the company rep they explained that I received “Armor Shield” but it’s a better product and I’d be happy with it. When I asked how 1/2 the thickness is better and why it’s in a Rhino Pad box I was put on hold. She came back and told me it’s “as good as” Rhino Pad. These folks are selling an inferior product and trying to pass it off as branded product. Save your money on this one. ... show more

Very easy to work with cut perfectly and very smooth, I have read some other reviews in which the writers were not happy because it was to thin. However, the material is meant to stop anything, such as a rock or root, from coming up from the bottom under the pool's liner and punching a hole in the pool's fool, for this the type of material and size is perfect. It is not meant to be a cushion and it does appear thin; because, it is thin; however, it is not the thickness but rather, the material which is relevant in stopping the pool fool from being punched. If you want a thick cushion or if you believe that only a thick pad will work, than honestly this is not for you. However, if you do understand that it is the type and quality of the material that stops and future damage form occurring then but thus one. ... show more

Item looked exactly as advertised. Size is correct (15’x 30’ oval) and installation was easy - My 10 year old helped me. There is a seam straight down the middle but it is well done (see picture). Item spread out smoothly and evenly. There are no defects or tears and the merchandise is exactly what I expected to receive from the seller’s description. I will update later on durability if it does not meet my expectations. For now, I’ve rigorously swept a few leaves, grass debris, and sand off of the surface with a broom that got on there from our yard and thus far I find no flaws in durability. We’ve laid this pad on top of a thin layer of sand which we leveled appropriately ahead of installation. ... show more

    • Nice protection for the pool

I used 4x4 post and top soil to make a level pool pad in my horribly un-level yard so I wanted a pad of some kind to protect against rocks. I used a medium built tarp on the bottom with this between the tarp and the pool floor. I found a couple sharp rocks as soon as we started filling the pool so I slid underneath and pulled them out. Possibly would have been ok with the Rhino pad but they were easily retrievable so I didn't want to leave them. The pad does add a small amount of padding to the floor but you'll still feel rocks and bumps through it if you leave them. ... show more

We put this under our 11,000 gallon above ground pool. We dug down 3 inches and had masonry sand poured and leveled. We then put down the rhino pad. We read other reviews stating how thin it is so we were not disappointed by the thickness of the product. The pool bottom is very soft and comfortable. I would definitely recommend. ... show more

This is a great product. We were not aware there was such a thing as an underliner for our above ground pool. We’ve had it for 16 years and had to replace the pool liner. I saw this product on Amazon, and thought it would be a good thing to have to protect under our new pool liner. Basically peace of mind so nothing sharp or rough could come through the new pool liner. It was so very easy to lay in place. We are so happy to have found it and purchased it. I think I may have received a fraudulent product. First of all the product is an extremely thin black felt like material. I expected a felt like material, but I expected it to be slightly thicker and white. It has three seams and they are not evenly placed- this clearly was constructed from scrap fabric. Also it is not cut to size, it is considerably larger than my pool and will need to be trimmed on every side. I will be using it because we are at the stage of the liner installation where there's no turning back, but this was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on Amazon. ... show more

    • Reliable product and easy to install
This was very easy to work with and cut perfectly smooth I had read many reviews before purchasing and people said it was way too thin. However the material is meant to stop anything such as rocks or roots from coming through the pools liner. The product won’t feel like you’re walking on memory foam but it certainly does its job. We put it up under a 16 x 10 x 4’ deep Above ground pool and it has been working perfectly and we have three children and two adults who work in it daily.
