I have been researching for a product that would protect my 84 year old mother with lung problems and has chronic allergies and asthma. This is the only product out there that was designed to kill the most aggressive contaminants (SARS, Legionnaires Disease, etc) and is actually protected by patents and backed by scientific study from Sandia National laboratories (the most recognized DOE research labs addressing national security issues such as biological warfare etc), Hospital tests University and military tests ARMY etc for use in field hospitals. The other UV lights and electronic air filters out there are not effective since they don't release components into the air to kill germs, as this device does. It was easy to install, I had to put it in the return duct after the filter and before the heat/ac chamber due to space restrictions (which they say is ok but better after the heater/ac chamber) I have a 1300 sq ft ranch house and my mothers symptoms immediately improved the next day at Level 1 setting. I noticed on rainy days (when she gets really sick) she was better but still sick (i have an old house with leaky windows) so I turned it up half way to 3 and will see how that does. After a week I think i'll just turn it all of the way up. I have 1 (kinda smelly dog, my Moms) and 3 cats, I have not noticed no "ozone" type smells and the house air quality smells fresh and clean, and lingering odors seem to disappear pretty quickly. ... show more

    • Worked for 6 months then quit
Worked great for the first 6 months. We bought a home from a smoker and this was really helping to alleviate the smell. We had it professionally installed by a licensed HVAC person. After it quit working we reached out to the company and found they do not honor the warranty if the device was purchased through Amazon. Lesson learned. ... show more

You may have better luck with this this model. A whopping one out of four of these that I installed for clients still worked two years later and I'm not talking about a routine lamp replacement. They change this model every year hoping to get it right I guess. The latest model not found here is an even bigger failure. One out of six lasted past eighteen months including two (both bad) in my own home. 40 years residential HVAC service so I have a clue about installation. That's more than I can say for their tech department who BTW never did make good on his warranty offer. Also if you have the newer model forget about trying to take the bulb socket out of that bayonet mount! Something will break. You are better off finding a small phillips and unscrewing the lamp from the base. Careful! The cheap screws are as soft as lead. I will be removing my firm as a dealer because I can not sell these overpriced gadgets to my clients and ruin my reputation. I'm not getting into numbers but you can come close in figuring out what a contractor has to charge someone to install one of these. I can't do it any more. ... show more

Alex helped me when I thought I did not get all the parts with my order... Thank you sir. First off, I did not purchase this for COVID 19. I am hoping it will help with it because right now I tested positive. I did get it because my wife suffers from allergies. We live in a wooded lot in Texas with a lot of oak trees. Not only did I receive the product earlier than expected, I installed it the same day. If you plan on doing this as a DYI, and your duct work after the blower is metal, you will need a 3inch hole saw. I have locked my fan into 60% for tonight. I am going to bed with a slightly stuffed nose. I also suffer from allergies but not like my wife. I have wired the halo system in to come on only when the fan runs. I need the air in the house to exchange per the guidelines. We will see what happens. Did I mention, Alex was great? If not Alex was great. Barney in Texas 7/23/2020...     • very questionable
after spending this large amount of money on this light, I thought it would kill germs, interestingly I did a maintenance on the air handler, and I had MOLD growing on some of the areas of this light.

Do not by this product from this seller unless you do not care about a warranty. The listing is misleading at best stating a 5 year ballast/ 2 year bulb warranty from the factory. This warranty is not honored by Reme unless it is purchased directly from Reme and installed by a professional HVAC contractor. Reme does not authorize the sell of it's products to online retailers. ... show more

This works beautifully. It has made the air in my house much cleaner as evidenced from my decreased dependence on my asthma inhaler. The odor some have complained of is simply the smell of negative ions which is truly the smell of clean air and is very pleasant. Got this unit 2 yrs ago to help with smells, my kids had two rat pets. It helped. 2 yrs and two months later the original light is still working and I leave it on all the time with no cycling and have my air handler set to run the fan 15 mins an hr if not already running for ac or heat.
