Features

  • FULL HD DUAL CHANNEL RECORDING: Front and rear cameras each record 1080p video @ 30fps. WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE allows each camera to perform optimally in low-light situations by carefully fine-tuning the exposure. 170 DEGREE ULTRA WIDE ANGLE LENSES on both cameras open up to capture sweeping views of their surroundings.
  • BUILT-IN GPS: Internal GPS Logger allows you to mark time, date, location, and speed information to all your recordings without the need for a separate accessory.
  • WI-FI CONNECT: View, save, and share dash cam recordings wirelessly on your mobile device with the use of an app interface.
  • SUPERCAPACITOR: Power is delivered by a supercapacitor, a premium alternative to a lithium-ion battery which features an enhanced temperature resistance to hot and cold climates.
  • SECURE RECORDING: Recordings are split into segments. When the storage limit is reached on the memory card, new recordings will automatically overwrite oldest recordings. When the G-sensor detects a collision, the current video is locked, ensuring important footage is kept protected. Supports class 10 or higher micro SD cards up to 256GB in size (not included).

  • So good i bought a second one
The media could not be loaded. Love the front and rear facing camera. With the smart hardware kit, it also works as a parking monitor if the car gets bumped, and the super capacitor is a big improvement over lithium batteries. I’ve caught 4 accidents on my old v1, including one where I didn’t even realize the other car sideswiped me. Luckily i had my rexing and the video proved to the police that they hit me, but that the jeep didnt even wobble, which is why I didn’t notice or stop. That could have been a huge headache. Do yourself and the other decent drivers out there a favor and get one. ... show more

  • Great when it worked
I've pretty much only owned Rexing cameras so not much to compare them to, but they were nice when they worked. Lately they've started cycling off and on while driving which plays the lovely startup tune every 10-15 seconds, but that has also led to the video being corrupted and unusable. Both this unit and another one in my other vehicle quit working with wifi; on connecting with my phone the unit would power off dead after about 60 seconds. Initially Rexing's solution was to update the firmware, when that didn't work that was the end of support. I got offered a discount on the next camera. Again I don't have any experience with dash cams, but I would think that it would last longer than 3 years. They were hardwired in with Rexing kits following all instructions. I've purchased and installed 3 of these, and to have 2 of them fail is unacceptable. ... show more

  • Good product, maybe not for novices like me
This is my first dash cam, bought this on a friend's recommendation and because it has front and rear cameras. I do like how it works. Video quality is good. Even though it's touted at 170 degrees for both, I kinda wish it was 180, but this is probably a limitation to available camera tech. Still really good field of view, so not a deal-breaker. Makes me feel protected in that if something happens, I will have evidence to back up my story. Even the first 5 minutes of testing it, I caught someone cutting in front of me without checking the lane. Took a while to figure out how to hide the wires (did the best I could by tucking them inside the lip of the linings wherever possible). Note: the tiny clips they give you don't work worth a damn--too small and adhesive is terribly weak. I tried command strips, those didn't work either. There was some excess wire that I couldn't hide, except by tying it up and shoving it in the glove box. (Someone experienced with pulling door panels and lining off and putting them back on could probably hide them much better.) Also, be very sure where you put the camera before using the super strong adhesive to the windscreen. I got it wrong the first time (too close to the ceiling and rear view mirror), had to prise it off the glass and use the 2nd adhesive patch. As it is, my best option is still behind the mirror, but in order for me to see the screen on the device properly, I have to be sitting in the passenger seat or move the mirror way down and lean way over (requiring me to be in park). Getting it started isn't hard. But there are VERY limited directions available both in the manual and on the website, so you have to be at least somewhat tech savvy to play with it and figure things out. Getting it to connect with the WiFi of my phone in order to view/play videos through the app can be a little iffy at times, taking a few attempts. Navigation of the app isn't exactly intuitive, but again, just a matter of playing around and figuring things out. One thing I can't figure out is why I randomly and frequently hear the "on" chime after it supposedly has already started recording when I start the drive. The first week, it seemed to happen a lot and so it was breaking the 5-10 minute drive into several videos, even after I turned loop recording off (options are 1min/3min/off for length of videos). Parts of the recorded trip are saved in the view list that can be erased or written over, some are saved in the list that's locked and can't be erased (where it records actual accident footage). Don't know why it did this as I was never in any accidents when it recorded. Played around with gravity sensitivity (default is low, I changed to medium). That seemed to help, though it still happens once in a while, though much less frequently. Maybe someone can post a solution to this and tell me what's causing this? Couldn't find anything online. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend getting this dash cam. If you've never used one of these before, maybe buy a more simple one. ... show more

  • Works fine until...
I have (had) this device in two of my vehicles. I believe most of the positive reviews are from folks that just got the device and are pleased that they were able to install it, and that they were able to review the recordings for their test-drives. I too can attest to that. But then... as others have noted... I have tried to count on this cam after to vehicle crashes, only to find that during attempted playback of both events - the cam did NOT capture the events and had quit saving footage over a year prior. Also note that this device cannot stand the heat (which would naturally occur from the Sun - through a windshield) which causes the LCD screen to eventually burn out (one screen lasted 4 years, the other 2 years). Without the screen you cannot access the menu to make adjustments or check the operation. I hope others have better luck. I have replaced all (4 vehicles) with Garmin Mini 2 Dash Cams which work perfectly, are smaller, have no screens to burn out, and can be adjusted and/or reviewed in a matter of seconds with the phone app. ... show more

  • Important
3 days after I installed it I was at a stop sign and there was a 3 car pile up right in front of me. The police were very grateful for the SD card.

  • Great little camera
I have had a Rexing dash cam for several years and works great which is why I purchased a V1P Pro+ for my UTV. Easy install and ease of use. Love it.
