I was a little skeptical to buy this product at first because it's so cheap for all the features it says it has. Usually when something packs all these features and costs this little, either the features don't work well or there is some other set back. After I installed it and used it for a little, I am glad that I decided to give it a try. Pros: Price point is amazing Touch screen is super responsive Wireless airplay works like a charm The EQ app allows for robust customization (once you are able to locate it) Custom steering wheel control mapping (Steering wheel control adapter required) Sound quality and power output is nice Allows for lots of peripherals Cons: The screen isn't that bright or high res (you can read that in the product description if you are familiar with how resolutions work) The beeping from the volume control and other things is annoying and sounds like crap (you can turn it off in settings) The UI takes some getting used to Navigating to different settings isn't self explanatory (takes some digging) It's Android based....I had to put that in there 🤣 In summary, you can't really ask for much more from a unit that is $200. This unit replaced a Kenwood which replaced the factory radio (99 Ford Explorer). Pros, Awesome sound system. Wireless Android Auto. Compatible Q96 dash and backup cameras. Continuous loop recording, front and back. Built in GPS. Supports multiple windows. Many apps. Easy installation and setup. Cons, Android Auto tends to hang intermittently. No WiFi 5G support. Speedometer is useless. No On Board Diagnostics app support. Backup camera shown upright in product brochure will produce an upside down image if installed like it's shown. Instructions are limited. The manual has typical made in China spelling errors. I'm hoping for some future software/firmware updates but overall it definitely is a huge upgrade to my old Explorer. I purchased and this is an non-compensated review. 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe - upgrade from a Jensen VX4022 smart radio - original system was Chevrolet / Bose with no external amplifier. Installation took a little more than 4 hours due to reusing the PAC Audio GM/Chevrolet adapters that absolutely are necessary to get this to work properly - meaning steering wheel controls, OnStar, and rear entertainment system. This is a lot of work to adapt to your GMC/Chevrolet, but it's worth it if you understand car audio systems, and have experience with the PAC Audio GMC/Chevrolet adapters. Otherwise, pay someone to do it. I wish that the vendor offered a custom radio to OEM cable, but there are just too many years/models to make it cost effective. Pros: 1 Excellent value for the money, Excellent features/capabilities. 2 RDS Radio is present - this is the song/artist title that scrolls - most other units DO NOT HAVE 3 Touch screen is fast, accurate, and highly visible 4 Steering Wheel Controls support - note SUPPORT - external adapter may be required by vehicle. Cons 1 For 2003 Tahoe for all capabilities to work, a PAC AUDIO GMC adapter *must* be purchased, along with CHIME unit. You can purchase on amazon. Otherwise, your steering wheel buttons won't work, rear seat entertainment won't work, Onstar, and chime unit won't work at all. 2 Front and Rear Camera are custom connections - you MUST PURCHASE G96 bundle or very complex custom fabrication. 3 The amount of cabling for GPS, front, rear camera, external audio, microphone makes this a LOT of cables to figure out. 4 NO DIRECT OEM CABLE CAN BE DIRECTLY PLUGGED INTO THE UNIT - you *WILL* be crimping, soldering, twisting wires together, and there are a LOT of wires. 5 DEFAULT AUDIO is EXTERNAL AMPLIFER - you need to SETTINGS>AUDIO>INTERNAL AMPLIFIER>ON if you don't have an external amplifier.     • WiFi not good
Wifi poor, 10 foot from router. Wifi can't see my hot spot phone physically touching the head unit. HDMI is not an input. Touch response is ok. Volume knob is good. Sub out voltage is real good. value for money? Not really. . Android auto connection drops. Has 5.1 audio if you have the speakers. Appearance is ok. Have to pull down from top of screen to see back button on some screens. Main thing I wanted was to hot spot my phone. Can't do that. So it really isn't able to function like and andriod. Can't download apps and Internet. So it like a decent regular head unit. But even the radio part, is not the best layout and in practice, not very intuitive. Simple mounting brackets that do not make install easy. That are able to be cut to what you need. Which I had to do. If you are not good with that you might not like. Could not use factory brackets, which were able to be used on an aftermarket pioneer unit. Waited past return window to install. Will have to pawn this off on another who just wants a little upgrade from stock and get something else. This does have backup camera input, not an actual camera, sold separately, and analog video input which probably work ok. But I did not take the time to hook that up. And gps. ... show more
