I have thick, wavy to curly hair. You will be amazed at how easy it is to have the hair go up the tube and come out stick straight. It is heavy when you are drying your hair, but not bad or a deal breaker. I can't see traveling with it easily; perhaps if you are on a road trip but not an airplane. It cuts drying time in half. Your hair is smooth and silky. It does make it stick straight, so if you like volume and some bouncy wave, it won't do that. You can use a curling iron after, but to me, the point is less heat and heat damage. There is some learning curve with this unit. It can make your ends look a bit dry. I have tried other very expensive products to dry and straighten my curly hair and have always been disappointed. Not this time! Easy to use, made my hair smooth and soft and straight in less than 15 minutes. No blow drying plus flat iron for me any longer. Follow the instructions closely! Smaller sections give you a more detailed dry closer to your scalp. Also, don't expect your hair to dry quickly if your hair is soaking wet. Remove the extra moisture before drying for best results. I love the fact that I can use the tension feature to stretch out my hair according to my own specifications. Packaged beautifully. Works very well. I feel like they’ve really thought of everything. Strangely enough the hose is the most inconvenient part of it. It’s heavy, bulky, and needs straightening out every once in a while. I’m hoping this feature is improved upon in future models. But overall it’s 100% worth the money, I’ve been using it for a few months after my washes and I feel like I’ve been getting less breakage and just overall easier styling. (3B hair) ... show more

I frst saw this product on a natural hair blog. Both my daughter and myself have extremely thick 4C hair. I have been hesitant to order because of the very high price. I REGRET BUYING ! Assembling was easy and the instructions were simple. The problems. FIRST- it is extremely loud.. Second - I had to put on highest setting to even get it to attmpt to strectcg my 4c afro hair. THIRD. it only stretched the very ends and would not get or pull at the roots leaving me looking like a bush with strings sticking out. Fourth it is so heavy and Awkward to hold in place at the back of my head. Fifth- I was unable to finish my head because the machine kept over heating and tripping the breakers. It was also very hot to the touch even after I lowered to a level 5. I am going to watch a few more Youtube videos to see if MAYBE I am doing something wrong but most likely I will be sending this thing back. ... show more

I debated on purchasing this for months. I watched countless YouTube videos before I decided to pull the trigger. Assembly was easy. I perused the instructions. My thick 4b course textured hair was freshly washed and separated into sections. There’s even a guide in the booklet showing a model with Afro hair sectioned off. I turned it on. Yes, it’s noisy. But not any louder than a vacuum or regular hair dryer. 60 seconds dried and stretched my hair to easily manage. I was able to comb through my hair with ease! If you have Afro textured hair and you are believing this will STRAIGHTEN your hair like a silk press, you will be disappointed. This dries and stretches, like a blow dryer. My hair was properly prepped for two strand twists or knotless braids. The difference is way less time, straightened and dried roots, and minimal to no shedding. My bathroom used to be filled with hair after blow drying. I am so glad I decided to purchase this. I love it and it’s made wash day less daunting! ... show more

After doing a lot of research on this hair dryer I decided to give it a try. It’s pretty cool and the concept is awesome. I watched a bunch of tutorials and read lots of FAQs so I’m pretty confident that I am using it correctly. To be honest, though, I find it faster to dry my hair with a traditional hair dryer (even a scalp-aware one that runs on lower heat). I realize this one practically reduces all of the heat that comes on to your hair but the physicality of holding the device up plus the longer length of time wasn’t worth it to me. HOWEVER, I can see how this would be AMAZING for other hair types. (Mine is long and straight hair, so maybe not even the target hair type!) ... show more
