  • Great for beginners
Nicely made and not cheap looking. Quality made and super fun for those just starting out. My kids love this.

  • Undeniably stylish and easy to learn!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great starter longboard! Having never skated before, I find this board stable enough for a learner to master balance, but maneouvreable enough to turn and begin to carve. The pintail design is very vintage and cool - I’ve gotten loads of compliments on the style! Pros: - style - stability - price point - easy for beginners - very gritty, grippy tape Cons: - trucks squeak a lot; might need to take them off to remove the plastic wrap remaining between them and the board - pintail shape is good for carving but hard for tricks; the long tail gets in the way - as I improve I will probably want to upgrade bearings for smoother ride For size reference, I am 5’4” and this board is pretty big! ... show more

  • Excellent quality and value!
Excellent value in a beginner longboard. Bought this for my boys and ended up ordering another one. This board is basically the same as the Quest but with better graphics and bamboo. Well thought out design, it has generic trucks and wheels but they function great, this thing CARVES! This is a cruising and carving design and is tons of fun. Can't believe how much they have advanced since I was a kid. The turning radius is excellent, wheels are sticky and roll over just about anything within reason, it's stable and fun to ride with the extended kick tail. Board is very stiff, pretty much no flex whatsoever, but that is a good thing in a beginner board, I think it contributes to it's stability. The fit and finish on this longboard is excellent, I mean really much better than I anticipated. It has a beautiful bamboo laminate with a matte finish and very tasteful graphics, the best I've seen on just about any board, and I have looked at plenty. They look so good I built a hanger to display them. If I had one complaint about them it would be the bearings, that would be my only upgrade (and will be), they just aren't up to the quality of the rest of the board, they have noticeably more resistance than a board with better quality bearings (Reds Bones are pretty cheap). I was worried this would be a Walmart quality board for this price ($60), it most definitely is not! In short, Awesome deck, good trucks, wheels, and bushings, but bearings could use an upgrade. Wheel cutouts are appreciated as this thing carves really well, and the kick tail makes this board fun for the boys unlike a pintail or drop through. ... show more

  • Great board! I ordered two of them
Great board! I ordered two of them, one for myself and one for my 10 year old son and we love them! Was surprised at how nice they are considering the price. I sold my last longboard which was a loaded vanguard so my expectations for these boards were not that high thinking that I had previously ridden such a nice board, but I figured for cruising around town and occasional trips to the local skateparks and bowls that these would be fine and did not think much more than that. However, upon receiving them and taking them out I was very happy with my decision to buy them! Way more than I figured I'd be! They are well built and ride great, bearings are smooth and fast, wheels grip well and roll nicely, trucks are fine, just needed tightened a little, but once I did that they ride great! We have since used these around town, on some local paved trails, on the street, and rode them at a local bowl called the Bro-Bowl and they have handled everything fine (minimal wheel bite at the bowl on some tight parts, but for a 44" longboard they did well). I have also made up a couple of land paddles and we have enjoyed pushing them around town using those. A few guys at my BJJ place also have longboards and skate and were really impressed with these when we rode together. I wish Ten Toes made a 30" board we could get that would be better suited for the bowls and skateparks, if they did I'd buy a couple of them without worry based on my experience with the two I have. ... show more

  • Nice starter longboard, needs dialing in
For the pricepoint, this is a super longboard for beginners. And it is beautiful bamboo with a lovely, vintage-inspired design (IMO a welcome relief from the aggro designs from most other longboard companies). I bought the Ten Toes complete board to try out longboarding (having never even skateboarded before) without spending too much on something I didn't know if I'd like. My primary fear was falling off the board and luckily, the board has a stable and tight setup right out of the box. I skated around on it for a few weeks and had a blast cruising through city parks. Eventually, I got tired of pushing so often and leaning so far to turn and wondered if it wasn't really for me. It wasn't until I tried a friend's fancier drop through longboard before figuring out that my board setup needs a lot of tweaking to fit my personal riding style. That's one downside of ordering a longboard online- it's ideal to try out different boards in person before choosing one that feels the best. With that said, here are my comments or adjustments I made to make the board more comfortable for my cruising style: Trucks - These are the the metal T-shaped pieces holding the wheels screwed to the board. The stock ones are fine. Mine were overly tight out of the box, which made turning more difficult. I loosened the kingpin slightly to address this. They were also squeaking every time I turned. To fix that, I took apart the trucks and inserted some soap shavings into the pivot cup. Wheels - They are nice and big for a cushy ride and are an appropriate size for a longboard of this size. At 85a hardness, they are great for pavement riding. Bearings - These are the round metal gadgets that fit inside the wheels and make them spin. Half of my wheels spun for only a few seconds, which is not good, and part of why I had to push so often. I opted to upgrade to Bones Red bearings, and added washers in between them to increase the speed. I also did not over tighten the nuts (that secure the wheels to the trucks) so that the wheels could spin freely. Bushings - These are the rubbery black rings that fit around the kingpin on the trucks that allow them to turn. The stock bushings are very hard, so I recommend changing these out to achieve a smoother ride (or one that best fits your riding style). I recommend that if you keep this board around as your main cruiser to get a skateboard T tool and dial in your trucks and bearings. Or just go to your local boardshop and get them to help you out. ... show more
