I used this for a chess board for my niece. It turned out great. I did follow the advice of carefully squeezing out bubbles as I poured the pieces and I used a pressure pot to get rid of the rest of the bubbles. I didn’t really trust the pieces to stay upright, so I made a jig that I could drop the pieces through. I don't usually leave review, but there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews about this product. I used a silicone release spray and while the pieces were a bit of work to take out of the molds, everything came out perfectly. The molds are in perfect condition. I would recommend to future users to use the a release spray, and when taking the pieces out of the molds, pull backwards (flipping it inside out) and limit how much you pull away sideways. I think this is where the majority of the product damage came from. Also, make sure that your resin is fully cured, not just set, as it can be sticky until then and possibly damage the molds. ... show more

Well worth the money. Super easy to use. It would be 5 stars but a few pawn molds were deformed. A couple of tricks are pouring a dab in all odd squares. Let it settle. Then add more epoxy bit by bit and square will be perfect. Let it dry and then flood coat the rest of the board. When pouring pieces, fill halfway, squeeze the mold at the head repeatedly to squish out air bubbles and get resin into all the details. Then fill the rest. ... show more

Excelente, tal y como se anuncia, me sorprendio el tamaño del tablero de ajedrez, muy bien, las piezassalen extraordinariamente bien en la resina, solo un consejo para las personas y es que cuando usted haga un vaciado de resina hacia las piezas, pongale poco al principio, saque las burbujas que se acumulan, con un palito, que no tenga punta fina para no dañar el molde, la clave es sacar las burbujas, para que la resina se acomode muy bien y por ultimo, para sacar las piezas ya curadas, saquela con calma, no se desespere si nota que no puede sacarla, agreguele alcohol, para que se despegue. I really wanted to love this board. I chose this because it was one of the only 12" boards that I could find. The pouring face of the board already had imperfections upon arrival, like little creases in parts and other oarts that looked like something had been rubbed against the mold. Cleaning the mold did not get them to go away. I attempted to take pictures but it's a hard thing to photograph. The mold is also pretty thin, like many cheap molds from China (and there doesn't seem to be any higher quality molds on the market), and unfortunately I was only able to make 1 board because it ripped upon demolding (my husband "helped" with the torch and well many of us know how that goes - it was not the mold's fault). So I'm back to looking for a board mold, I won't be trying this one again because I have no way to fix the surface imperfections and it will drive me nuts. I don't know how good the chess pieces are because I used a different mold set I purchased separately. ... show more

My grandson loves chess, so I decided to make this set for his birthday using his school colors. Nice thick molds and had no issues with demolding, even without using any release product. I found that the best way to eliminate air bubbles in the chess pieces was to fill them slightly more than half way, then squeeze them all around before filling completely, or in my case, filling to the bottom bands and allowing for partial curing before adding the bottom color. Ordered in November and luckily I'm still in return period. Planned to make these for Christmas gift and make sets to sell with my business. Just opened ad missing a pawn!. So I went ahead while I am waiting for the full set and made a board (almost done) and a set of pieces. ALMOST EVERY PAWN'S HEAD IS BROKEN before I even try to demold. This is bizarre! I've never had this issue with ANY mold. The pawn heads are all separating from the rest of the piece. I searched to see if anyone else has this issue and found at least one other. Perhaps a bad lot? Idk. But I'm really getting mad. The queen also has ONE SPOT that has now 2 out of 2 times, nor made a clean piece Instead one part of the disk area below the head has a section missing. So now I've got to pour all of These pieces a THIRD TIME! I'm only on my very first board! Come on Resin world! Do better! PLEASE CHECK YOUR INVENTORY TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE DELIVERING FULL SETS and FIX THE PAWNS AND QUEEN! I now will have to wait for the one missing piece to complete this as now I don't trust these pawns AT ALL! After that this whole thing is going back! So frustrating! Grr ... show more
