    • Accurate replacement for my Pit Boss 850
4 years into smoking, the included temperature probe started drifting too hot. When the probe read 160F, the actual temperature was around 145F using 3 other thermometers. Cleaning didn't help. I replaced it with one of these and the temperature readings all match within 2-3 degrees F when checked in ice water and boiling water. I know Pit Boss will probably replace the original since it's still under warranty but these were delivered overnight and are so inexpensive, I could use the spare as a backup because these probes are expendable items and 3-4 years of regular use inside the smoker will take it's toll. ... show more
