This was good and easy to install into my 5 gallon button. However it didn’t have the back nuts to screw and hold it. I had to use some that I had from another product. Probably my fault for assuming it would come with what I think is essential to make this work. Just be aware that you’ll need to buy the nut thingy to screw it ... show more

I have used horizontal nipples without cups and thought I would Try the nipples with cups The cups get full of wood chips, I like the regular horizontal nipples better but my week old chicks have figured out how to use the ones with the cups the cup part does not get water in it They seem to be entertained by the red nipples. I still keep a small regular water in with the week old chicks I’ll take that out in a week or two. ... show more

I have made 2 separate watering buckets utilizing these nipples. Both have failed due to leakage. I used a sturdy 5 gallon bucket on the first one and a food grade bucket purchased at Lowes on the second. I used a 5/16" bit as most drill bit kits do not include a 11/32" bit or at lease the ones I have don't. With the 5/16" bit, it's a very tight fit. Really have to force the nipple in for it to fit at all. Well, it's so tight, both buckets cracked where the nipple goes in. Nipples work fine and chickens are easily trained. Recommend not using a 5/16" bit. We have to order a 11/32" bit & see if that solves our issue. ... show more
