I'm a quilter so I need a big sturdy ironing surface. I've been messing around with my cheapo $25 ironing board for 15 years and I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. Yes, I cringed as I hit the COMPLETE PURCHASE button for a $300 ironing board. But after receiving it and using it, I'm glad I bought it. It is STURDY. No wobbles, and the surface is nice and big for pressing the backing fabric or the quilt top. If you make garments you might want one that has the tapered end, but I did not want the taper. I wanted an ironing board that didn’t wobble and one that I could more easily iron sheets and pillowcases. This ironing board is perfect. Of course it is a bit heavy or it wouldn’t be sturdy.

I am thrilled with this new ironing board. My old one was so old, wobbly, moved when used it and I hated it. I love how sturdy this is, how wide it is, its shape and on and on. Oh and love little storage "box/bag" that slides in and out as a thread catcher that does not fall off. Well worth the price. It is really heavy so while harder to move that is what makes it so stable. Highly recommend. ... show more

    • Beware poor quality
We returned the first ironing board because it would not sit flat on the floor. We thought that it was bent while it was being shipped. One leg sat 1/2" off the floor. We reordered another one, the new one still rocks but not as bad, one leg was 1/4" off the floor. We are returning the second one because an ironing board this expensive should not rock and you should not have to put something under the leg to keep it from rocking. Our $30 ironing board sits on the floor just fine and does not rock!!!!!! ... show more

    • Way shorter than I thought I would be
Assuming this was just a rectangular version of a normal ironing board, I paid more attention to the width and length than the height. 1 it's short, 8" shorter than the regular ironing board. I'm 5-10 and it's a bit low at full height. 2 not as long as I had hoped. I got the longest model and maybe it's the boxy nature but it seems a few inches less than a regular board 3 the top is fantastic. The packaging compresses the foam in a few places and it takes a day or 2 for everything to rebound. It it with a warm iron and it comes back quicker. It's nice for pressing, the iron is stable, you and get a good flat seam and it removes heat pretty well. Can't wait to iron a full top and some yards to put it to the full test. ... show more

Wow this is really good iron board, the material does not slide. It is very sturdy. The only things I don't like is the iron cord get caught every time I iron between the iron holder and board. I put something there to stop that.

    • That this big board is good if you are a quilter.
I love this big ironing board. It makes it easy to iron large pieces of fabric even clothing. The board is sturdy and easy to put to fold down and put away. I leave my big ironing board up at all times because I’m constantly working on quilt projects. It is worth the cost!
