  • ONLY 1 TIMER!!! BEWARE!!!
Let me preface this review by stating that the lights did light up beautifully, they were very bright, and the colors were quite vivid. However, there are some issues if you are trying to light up a tank like mine that they do not really spell out for you. If you have a small little Bio-cube with a fish and a shrimp in it, then these lights are exactly what you would need. In a more elaborate tank, you need a sun up and a sun down option. So CH1 needs to be able to be on its own timer so it can turn on an hour or so before the CH2 white lights do. This way they can also be on longer than the CH2 white lights giving the illusion of sun down. The way these lights are configured is only with only EXTREMELY rudimentary timer that controls both CH1 & CH2 at the very same time. You chose how many hours you want the light on, and whammo! Both channels come on at the same time, as well as they go off at the same time. I tried to ask the seller for information through their email option, to no avail. FBI might call that a clue. I bought 4 of the lights thinking that with all of the technology that is packed into these lights, SURELY there has to be separate timers. There is not. As I said before, I am not degrading the quality of these lights at all! There is undoubtedly many new hobbyists out there that will not know the difference and be very happy with them. I however, sent them back. I probably would have kept them if the two channels had separate power supplies so I could have put on my own timer on one of the channels to make it do what I wanted. One single corded power supply. No way around it. If you are an advanced hobbyist, and you need multiple of these like I did, take the $6-700 and look elsewhere. There are better options available for the advanced needs. I have yet to receive my refund from them yet either. I'll keep you posted! ... show more

  • Love it, great bright coral reef light
I took a chance a couple of weeks ago because there was no review and bought this coral reef light, boy, am I pleasantly surprised. At first look, the built is solid with metal construction, has simple but clean pleasant lines that I like (I want people to pay attention to the corals and not get distracted by the light), and the lens on the LEDs feels nice and firmly attached. The remote control doesn't have too many buttons and is easy to use, and the LCD display is very nice. Turning it on, the LEDs are bright and has all the needed colors. I really like the blue LEDs can be independently adjusted from other colored LEDs, so there is no need to install separate dedicated actinic light to make the coral color pop when I want to. I was worried that the fan noise may be a problem, but I can only barely hear it when it turned on as temperature raises, thanks to its large fan blades. I hope the fan noise will not rise as time goes, but even if it does, it looks really easy to replace when needed. Overall, I am very happy with it, and would strongly recommend it. ... show more

  • First impressions on the reef light...
Ok , so I am going to do a review on the lights, I am going to have to get 3 more to do a proper review, it is going on 200 gallon reef tank, but for now I’m going to put it on a 60 and give my thoughts on the quality of the light. I have own’ed about every reef light you can think of, and there is good, bad and everything between, fist thoughts, the light seems to be really good, it’s not made of cheep parts, it is basic ( I like that) I do not need any of the thunderstorm settings or any of that stuff that I will never use. Not to mention that it probably scares the crap out of the fish. Anyway so far it am very pleased with this light. I will do a review in few months to see how the corl /fish do under the lights, I am thinking it’s going to be a great light for the price. To be continued............ ... show more

  • Manual input
I have had this light for 6 weeks now. It was purchased by mistake but decided to give a shot. My major complaint is that you have to manually increase the light with the remote. Not good if your not home. No programming. It has been a good light otherwise until last night the fan started clicking and hasn’t stopped. ... show more

  • Great LED option, marine life is popping!
Bought one to go over my 36 gallon tank and looks amazing. Initial thoughts are it’s well built and sturdy. Packaging was great and it comes with wires to hang above the tank. The different colors and spectrum (mind you, they are BRIGHT) makes the aquarium come to life and should make it a healthy marine environment. The install was easy and working the controls and setting the timer were a breeze. I have a similar light for another tank and so far, this looks to hold up just as good, if not better. I think the controls and setup gives this a slight advantage. Very pleased with it so far and will likely order more. ... show more

  • Unable to get support
I am encountering difficulty in setting up the lights. My aquarium guy who has been installing aquariums for 10 years was unable to figure out how to use the remote control. The instructions provided are horrible

  • Good packaging with features. Poor reliability
Good packaging with some good minimal features. Great output lumens & PAR. Purchased 2 units initially. One unit failed completely after about 3 months. Purchased a replacement unit, but now another unit is exhibiting intermittent operations (ch2 leds) are randomly shutting off.
