While this shelf is not the most heavy duty in the world, as in, I wouldn't recommend it to put 20 lb bags of beans on it, it does what I needed it for, and that is to keep my seedlings in a safe out-of-way spot. First: Kudos to Amazon for somehow managing to deliver this the same day I ordered it. That's remarkable. I've bought a lot of wire frame shelving over the years, both for work and for home. Most of it is quite sturdy and goes together very quickly. This shelving is a little different. The vertical tubing is of a smaller diameter than standard, and the tubing walls feel a bit thinner. Which is OK, given the small size of this unit. The tubing sections do not lock together, but instead friction fit. A couple of the tubing sections are slightly loose, but most fit very snugly. The shelves are all slightly off true, so they don't want to sit square on the plastic shims, but they can be gently but forcefully pushed down until square-ish. The unit includes screw-in feet with adjustable heights, which is useful since everything is slightly off. The shelving is not chrome, but is painted shiny gray. It looks nice, and doesn't stand out. The weight rating of 100 pounds per shelf seems very optimistic, given the thin wire used for the floors of the shelves. 20 pounds per shelf, maybe. But this isn't a rack for your weight set, it's a small shelving unit to put a few small things on. Overall, given the low price and matching expectations, it's pretty good. ... show more

This shelving unit is exactly what I was looking for. Some reviews state its smaller than expected but the dimension of my unit are precise to what is stated. It was hard finding this size which is exactly what fits my space perfectly. The unit was extremely easy to assemble. I will add that the three packages with the rods are not labeled end top of middle. It was still easy to figure out which rods went where. Most of the negative reviews I saw were user error and not assembled correctly. If assembled correctly this shelving unit is great sturdy and a steal of a deal. Took a long time to assemble as the instructions were very vague. At first it was very flimsy. Thought I’d have to return it. After a long while I found out (no thanks to the vague instructions) that the plastic pieces were upside down. Was sturdy once I got it together correctly. However, I do still wish they made it to where I could flip the shelves upside down. Because of the way they manufactured it, I can’t do that. The shelves come with a 1” lip on all sides to prevent things from falling off, but this also prevents you from being able to turn larger items. I bought this originally to place my air conditioner on, but with that lip, I can’t turn the a/c to face the middle of the room, it’s stuck facing one direction. (Can’t turn shelf either because it’s in a tight spot) ... show more

These are the best shelves for houseplant collection. They are adjustable and you can add more units easily and change the shelves any way you want. They do not collect dust! I absolutely LOVE these!!
