Purchased this to connect to a Redtiger R7N Dash cam. The rear that came with the dash cam appeared to be designed for outside; therefore, I purchased this one since it allows the camera to rotate around the axis of the shaft it it located on, similar to rotating a barrel. This allowed me to attach to the upper part of a vertical truck rear window and rotate to get the best picture and angle for the rear picture. Picture is clear sharp and works good at night. Edit: the problem was not the rear camera, the main camera was faulty and they reached out to me and replaced it free of charge. Now everything works wonderful and I am very pleased. Great customer service. I bought the main camera and it came with rear camera but doesn’t work so bought this and still does not work. Unsure if the problem is the main camera? The main camera works wonderfully in all areas except the rear camera does not function ... show more

    • Good daylight view, expected night view
I installed this looking through the rear window of my truck. My front camera is 4K and this is 1080 (the max for the camera to record) so I realized from the start that this would not be the same quality picture as the front. That said, during daylight the image is very good - it holds position and it was very easy to install. That's one of the reasons I got it, as I could install it at the top of my window and run it behind the headliner easily to the camera. Night views are as expected, with poor dark vision on unlit roads, and headlights dazzling behind overpower any view of details. However, this will still let you know for the record if someone hits you or is tailgating, and for insurance purposes that is sufficient. The day view is much better and does give many more details. Most cameras do not handle bright headlights well and this one is no exception. ... show more

I Didn’t like that it simply came in a ziploc baggie and no instructions but it’s pretty self explanatory. Plug it in and attach it. Works well with the main unit.

Get the red tiger with rear camera if possible or retrofit with this it just plugs in. Things can happen behind you!
