it was easy to install and add to my radio upgrade. The picture is clear. The LED lights make it more effective during the evening. It has along cable where I can install it in any type of vehicle. The mounting bracket is more sturdy than my prior cameras. I will buy it again for my other vehicles.

    • Great simple, affordable and reliable backup camera

I have bought and used three of these eRapta backup cameras over the last 4 years, and I have to say that I am very satisfied with them. All three have worked without any issues. I installed them, hooked them up to my reverse lights and car stereos, and they just worked as intended. They have worked in all driving conditions too such as heavy rain, snow, extreme heat and high winds. I also liked that they were relatively simple to install. I liked that you simply mounted them over your license plate. Connecting them to your reverse lights or car stereo can be chore though depending on the vehicle. On some cars, it's not difficult at all though. There are really only two criticisms I have about these cameras. First, the picture quality isn't the best as it's standard definition (SD) resolution. Could it be better? Of course. However, the quality has been good enough for me. I can always tell what I am looking at when I am backing up my car. The visibility at night is also surprisingly very good. So, the low resolution isn't a big deal. The second critique is that the camera calibration (exposure, contrast, saturation, color balance etc.) seems to vary quite a lot. All three of my cameras have totally different color profiles. One is very saturated, another is very dull and unsaturated, and the third has very high contrast. I don't know why this is the case other than the manufacturer doesn't have standards for camera calibration before they ship and sell them which honestly isn't surprising considering it's a cheap Chinese product. It doesn't really affect the performance of the camera, but it might indicate a lack of good quality control on the manufacturer's part. Overall though, I have been very happy with these cameras, They were relatively easy to install, work as intended, work in all weather and driving conditions, and have lasted me 4 years so far with no issues. If you’re a stickler for video quality, then realistically it is not gonna be the highest quality but it works amazing with my double din, good enough quality to see at night and is waterproof, just try to use a silicone barrier where you drill a hole at so no water leaks. Initial connection simple and easy, all electrical connections soldered and taped with black fiber wiring tape for reinforcement. Worked perfectly for about 30-35 days then intermittently like first thing in the morning or after sitting for a while, then just two weeks ago…nothing - DEAD! Pioneer Stereo receiver has separate app to view rear camera and that’s toasted! Reached out to company for equal replacement only and see how that works out! ... show more

While the camera is great and has a great picture their customer service is even better. My camera would not turn on after being shut down. Only after I unplugged it and plugged it back in would it turn on (small 4 pin connector). It would only turn on if it was already powered up. I was past my Amazon return window. I emailed them and described my problem and they immediately sent out a replacement. The replacement fixed my problem. So I'm a very happy customer. It's rare nowadays for this level of support. They emailed it was sent out and checked on my delivery. I emailed them to report not only did I get it but it fixed my issue. Great communication and customer support! ... show more

I ordered this to fit a pickup truck that rolled off the lot years before back-up cams were a common feature. Overall, installation was easy. The image quality is reasonable, though it is not 720p resolution as stated in the manual - it uses the CVBS (the old-style video line with the RCA connectors) which supports 480i at maximum. It's a minor niggle, since you don't really need high resolution for backing up. Night vision is decent, though for day-vision, it's a little washed out. The manual tries to be helpful, but appears to be quite poorly auto-translated. If you are not comfortable with trying to interpret what they meant in the manual, you might want to have a professional or knowledgeable friend install this. Otherwise, it's mostly a simple matter of running the video signal and reverse sense wire into the cab of the vehicle, and connecting your wires to the reverse lights and ground. There are a couple of things that are poorly explained in the manual or not at all: * The 26' video wire has a built-in companion wire, this is intended for you to run the 12v from the reverse lights back into the cab and tie into your video system. The manual doesn't really indicate that this is really just a third wire all the way down the line (but it should be reasonably obvious). * The manual covers the little loops of green and white wire, these control whether the video is mirrored (for backing) or not (so you can use it as a forward blind-spot monitor, for instance in front of the vehicle), and the guide lines (if your video system provides them, you can disable the built-in ones). Normally you would cut these as needed to disconnect them, but if you're more creative, you could even wire switches into them to control them. ... show more
