  • Nice Kit.
I prefer the Titration Method provided by the equipment in this kit. The drops are more accurate, and it's much clearer to read and accurately use.

  • Easy to use and accurate
Fairly easy to use even though its a bit time consuming to do the tests. Does produce repeatable results so seems to be accurate.

  • Red Sea and Me
Red Sea has done a great job of packaging a test kit where you feel the product equals the cost. Let me explain. 1. The case is nice hard plastic 2. The titrator makes testing easy 3. Color coordination delineates between each test and reduces the likelihood of cross contamination. 4. Test equipment like containers are glass. Red Sea also has made testing clear and easy to complete. There are several utube videos that provide consise instruction along with manual and visual cards that make anyone comfortable using this test kit. Some advice for new users. 1. Clean clean clean you syringes and test containers with RO water( no soap) each and everytime you put away your kit and between each test. 2. Take your time and read instructions and watch videos until you have some confidence you know what you are doing. 3. Rinse each container in the salt water you are testing when you are ready to test. 4. Most IMPORTANT, take your time and measure each full drop. You dont want to push through too quickly and miss your color change. I recommend without reservation this test kit. Yes it is higher priced but for the difference you will be wishing you brought this kit first because you know you will trying to save money. The Titrator on its own makes testing that much easier. ... show more

  • Works great and arrived with no leaks
Test kit arrived in good condition. Was a little worried about the horror stories of getting leaking kits but I didn't have that issue. Test results were in the same range of my other brand test kit. The one issue I did have was with magnesium. I was reading way too high. Tested with my other kit and was within 1320 range. Upon inspection the syringe I received was slightly pinched so I wasn't drawing in an accurate amount of solution. Overall I'm happy with the Red Sea test kits because it comes in it's own case and the titrator. Update*** Magnesium still tests way too high. Did some research and it seems like a common issue with the Red Sea magnesium tests. Still a really nice test kit but I will be using a different test kit for Magnesium. ... show more

  • An all in one kit with good documentation, instructions and quick reference cards make this a great buy.
Ive read the reviews for people saying this is a complicated to use kit. I would have to disagree when compared to other kits. There are some that are easier but they arent as accurate. The Mg test can be a little tedious however, once in line it only needs to be checked on a biweekly to monthly basis (i do monthly). The Ca and Alk are both easy and quick to perform. I checked the Alk test against my Hanna and it read within .1 dKh difference. I would assume it is accurate. I also use a calculator to determine how much Calcium I needed to raise my aquarium to the correct levels. I tested before and a few hours after adding my 2 part and the amount I added brought calcuim to the exact target I was shooting for. The CA test seem to be accurate. I will be at some point ordering the Hanna Calcium test to do a comparison and I will update this review when I do so. I am very happy with the kit and I really like the little extras that come with it. I really like the titrator extension and how easy it makes it to add the titration mixture of the test fluid. ... show more

  • Great kit, seems consistent and more accurate than others
I like the design of this kit. I've been using salifert which has been consistent but when I dosed my alkalinity with the red sea I noticed it was .5 Lower than the salifert. I tested 3 times with the red sea and each time was 8.4. I think the red sea is probably more accurate. Although the salifefrt may be off a little it's still consistent and with saltwater consistency is the key. I like both test kits but I think I prefer the red sea. ... show more

  • RED SEA REEF TEST KIT - VERy GOOD 100% Excelent
RED SEA very good product. At first a little reading and understanding as their use. NO is very easy ... you need patience and understanding. For l amount of criticism I've read: many people do not know how to use or simply not read the instructions. Already today: after almost five reading TEST of each: excellent and very good .. I checked with other TEST (API SEACHEM) and are very even. The material is very good briefcase; Sturdy appropriate, arrived quickly, very good price relationship. It is a very good product for REEF aquarium. If you are a keen aquarist should have the equipment on hand. I have NO complaints ... show more

  • Poor instructions
These are somewhat complicated and sensitive tests in terms of the possibility of user error. As such, where it counts, the instructions are terrible. You get a instruction booklet, but the actual taking the test part of the instructions need to be redone with decent graphics. The company needs to hire a technical writer and graphic illustrator. They need to *clearly* show the relationship of the syringe tip and plunger, and better explain how to do the math and calculations. It isn’t complicated math, but the first time, it is very puzzling and the second and third time, you still wonder if you’re doing it right. Given that these tests take some time, and quite a bit of time the first couple of times, it is not a very user-friendly product. This doesn’t even include reading the test itself, and the clarity of the instructions relative to when you start to hit a caller four when do you have hit the *right* color and should stop and measure. To be honest, I wish I hadn’t bought it at all, and had purchased the Hanna devices without spending my money on this first. ... show more
