  • Same as my tattoo artist uses
So I bought some for my husband who goes to an artist that does not apply after tattooing. I apply it at home. I have been tattooed many times without it, and many with it. No doubt that the compression, protection of the shield increase comfort that first 3-4 days of a brand new tattoo. Lymph fluid will build up but I just make a small hole with a needle to drain it and leave the shield. I just had my hands done, and it won’t hold for them but awesome for other body parts. ... show more

  • Absolute necessity
I am heavily tattooed and still continue to get work done almost monthly. The first night after a tattoo, you will leak plasma and ink and icky stuff. If you wash it with non-scented soap let it air dry. Put this on leave it on at least until the next morning all of that stuff stays inside the bandage and doesn’t get all over your sheets. You’re not gonna wake up, stuck to the sheet. You can take it off the next morning when you’re in the shower, I do I wash it again and then I put on another application which I leave on for about 3 to 4 days. Easy to use. Cut it to the size that you need. I always go a little bit bigger so there’s room for all those fluids to store and then if it does start to roll up on the end, you’ve still got your tattoo covered. Absolutely has reduced the amount of time a tattoo takes to heal. And it is an open wound. It needs to be protected. Highly highly recommend this product. Total game changer. ... show more

  • ❤️❤️❤️ NEVER GO WITHOUT THIS ❤️❤️❤️ NO PAIN ONCE APPLIED‼️
The media could not be loaded. I will never do another tattoo without using this on myself. I did a tattoo as I do on myself and I put this on right away after doing the tattoo and there was absolutely no pain once I put it on. 100% of the pain was gone 😮😮😮 Directions are clear. Put your one a freshly done tattoo that is 1 minute old. Keep the first one on there for 24 hours. Then take it off and it will be very gooey sticky. Then you put one on for an additional 4 days and take out off. This comes with directions on the outside of the box. I did notice on the fifth day that my leg started to itch through the Derm Shield. So when I took it off the final time, it was not gooey or sticky. It only does that when you first apply it to a fresh tattoo. The second time it sticks, but don’t worry I’m not gonna ruin your tattoo. Not even gonna ruin at the first time that you take it off when you see a tad bit of ink on the DERM SHIELD BANDAGE film. So don’t worry because your not pulling out the ink. This is the first time that I’ve used it. It’s very easy to use. I did put it on wrong the first time because I put it going horizontal. You need to make sure that when you put it on that it’s going horizontal the long way up and down, or else it doesn’t cover the whole tack to correctly when you try to put it on and peel off the paper. You’ll see why if you do it once, why you need to do it going up and down. So pay attention when you put it on. It also needs a 2 inch gap around the edges. So make sure that you have enough to carry the edges of the tattoo. It’s definitely waterproof. I went to the beach or not. So this is awesome to have. ❤️❤️❤️ I WILL NEVER EVER USE OINTMENTS EVERY AGAIN‼️ THIS ODD FOR SURE A GAME CHANGER IN TATTOOING 👍👍👍👍 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🩵🩵🩵🩵 PS: if you put it on, and you see bubbles in the paper, I didn’t worry about it and I just left it on for the first time for 24 hours. You will get better at applying this when you put it on a 2nd time. Practice makes perfect 🤩 😍 👍 I did notice when I took it off after five days that it did leave a little film on the sides of the tattoo. I’m sure if you use some baby oil around the edges it would take off that sticky edge ... show more

  • Love this stuff
I use this product to heal my tattoos: I am pretty heavily tattooed and have tried several similar products over the years. This one has worked much better for me, as the adhesive does not irritate my skin when I try to remove it. I also find that it stays on better in between applications. I cannot speak as to other uses, but as far as healing tattoos, this definitely cuts down on the overall healing time and prevents scabbing. I highly recommend it for this purpose! ... show more

  • Trash
I’ve bought easier stuff to use that off brand and stays better. Ruin the whole process by not being to find an edge and any side just bunched up. The most expensive of the options and it’s also the worst.

  • My favorite way to heal a tattoo
I love this stuff. We used to swear by saniderm, but have made the switch to this Derm Shield. The best part is that it is matte instead of shiny. This has two main benefits, one it doesn't "stick" to everything, meaning that kind of like anti-slide sticky kind of feeling doesn't exist, so if you put your body part on say a chair arm or a table, it doesn't resist movement or stick to it. The other benefit is that it's so much easier to get a nice picture of your new tattoo with the dermal shield on. No weird reflections from the shiny material. It also sticks great, and doesn't seem to start peeling at the edges as quickly as the other brand. Granted, this also means it is still stuck on when it's time to take it off. Do it in the warm shower, and try to stretch the shield away from the skin slowly while letting the water spray on it. It's still going to take a while, unless you are a monster who just rips it off. Any, we also use this for other random injuries that could benefit from being covered up, and I love it. ... show more
