  • Brand is not what is meant to be
I bought this product as a replacement for the turntable I have had for years and it turns out it’s not that great of a brand (Seasonlife which is located in China.) The whole unit fell apart as the pitch when I played a record kept wavering and to top it off, the platter was not staying in place. I suggest avoid this brand ... show more

  • I really like this turntable.
I think just about anyone can set up this turntable but beginners may have to make a few tries. I had no problem setting up the turntable, the arm weight and the bluetooth but I had to do a little research on my own. Everything works and I am really happy with this turntable.

  • Poor Quality - Don’t Recommend
The media could not be loaded. I liked the look and style of this from the photographs, but was very disappointed when I unboxed. There was a noticeable rub mark in the finish on the bottom, right corner, and terrible silicone work around the metal insets. The silicone was yellow and crumbling and looked like a bad patch job. Aside from the condition, the lid comes crashing down at the slightest touch. ... show more

  • Looks nice in the pictures, does not translate to the actual product
I am an avid collector of vinyl and vintage turntables, which I got into in the early 70's. Having worked on and restored many turntables, I have a pretty good understanding of turntable setup and what makes a good or bad one. My 13 YO daughter has just got into vinyl (how the wheel turns!) and I wanted to get her a basic turntable that will teach her proper handling of the medium, while not ruining the expensive vinyl records. I will give her one of the restored fully automatic vintage TT's I have if she is responsible. I saw this turntable and it looked quite decent on the photos and the text description. I felt the price was high, but gave it a try. What a disappointment. It's a heavy piece of junk in reality. The base is a heavy MDF with a nice matt white finish. The gold arm mounting plate, bezels and buttons are a bit garish. but that can be overlooked. The issue starts with the flimsy platter which is a bad, imprecise casting. The pulley is not true and the belt does not stay on for long. Arm looks impressive, but the bearing is messed up. If I set the correct tracking force for the first track. As the arm moves towards the inner tracks it seems to get lighter and starts skipping. Setting the counter weight heavier, makes the arm too heavy at the start of the record. Something is evidently out of alignment or bent. The electronics seem to work fine (RCA and BT). I tested it with a BT speaker and the sound quality was mediocre. I am sure that upgrading the cartridge and using a quality phono stage will transform the sound. Those upgrades however will cost more than the TT itself. When I have the time, I will pull it apart and rebuild it but I am not sure its really worth the time investment. When you consider that it's possible to get a mint used vintage Hi-Fi TT for $150 or less, and a new Hi-Fi TT for around $300 its difficult to justify a product like this which does not work properly. I honestly cannot recommend this product. ... show more

  • Decent turntable, but overpriced
I like this turntable \ record player, and it serves quite well for me transferring my vinyl records to mp3 files, but it's awfully expensive for what you get. (Although the current $30 discount coupon helps.) Just to get this out of the way - if you're an "audiophile" or vinyl snob, this is not the turntable for you. But if you're an oldie with some good records you want to play once in a while, or transfer to mp3 files so you can play them on your phone, you'll probably like it just fine. I like the simple design. Simple, clean, without a bunch of bells and whistles. Not too keen on the gold bits, but I can live with that. It does require a little bit of assembly, but it's not difficult as long as you don't actually try to follow the instructions, which have you put the platter on before you put the belt on the platter . . . so, put the belt around the middle of the underside of the platter, put the platter on the turntable, then reach through one of the access holes and pull the belt around the pulley on the motor. Spin it a few times to make sure the belt doesn't fall off. Then put the pad on the platter, slide the dust cover onto its hinges, and pop the cover off the cartridge, and you're good to go. The record player works pretty well. The sound quality depends entirely on what kind of speakers or stereo you connect it to. If you link it to a cheap bluetooth speaker, it'll sound cheap. Connectoed to a good bluetooth speaker, it sounds pretty good. Hooked to a pair of small bookshelf speakers, it lacks bass, so you'll need to rig up a subwoofer. Connected to my PC (which has pretty good speakers) and played through a decent audio program, or connected to a decent stereo amp with good speakers, it sounds great. The instructions recommend Audacity for recording your vinyl records to mp3, and it works just fine, although there is a learning curve. There are other applications available that work just as well, so just pick the one you like and you'll be fine. There really aren't very many negatives to this turntable. It's high priced for what it is, and there are alternatives that work just as well for somewhat less money, but it's pretty good, if a little weird in some ways. As soon as you turn this record player on, the platter will start turning, even with the tone arm on its rest. When you play a record, if you have Auto Stop turned on, when the record is finished playing, the platter just stops spinning. As soon as you move the tone arm, the platter starts spinning again. This is just weird - the platter should stop spinning when the tone arm is moved all the way to the right. The pitch control is nice to have, but the instructions say to turn the knob until the strobe is in the middle. There is no strobe, and it doesn't say what it should be in the middle of. (Which is probably because there is no strobe.) So you're tuning by ear - just leave it half way between + and - and you'll probably be happy. The 45/33 RPM selector switch is on the back. Seriously stupid place to put it. I'm glad I don't have any 45s any more. Overall, it's a pretty decent little record player \ turntable, for a pretty high price. ... show more
