I bought this as a gift for my daughter. The all-in-one design without a separate speaker was ideal for the limited space she has. I was surprised by the sound quality for an internal speaker but is has the flexibility to use a bluetooth system separately. The set-up was typical of a standard tone arm turntable and no problem at all. The instructions were clear enough and the result I think is quite good. I was hopeful but very skeptical making this purchase. I was ready to return it if it didn’t have good/clear sound. I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s definitely the nicest turntable since I was a kid in the 70/80’s. (Not as nice as the ones we had then…but much better than ‘all in one’ stereos they sell today). Received today, set-up and tested. No issues. PROS: Well packaged. Sound was more than acceptable for a turntable with speakers for $200. Attractive. RCA jack for external speakers. Bluetooth IN for listening to music from other devices. CONS: Instructions somewhat confusing for tonearm balancing. No adjustments for base/treble. No amp specs which would help in external selection. OVERALL: A nice unit for the money and satisfactory unless you were expecting audiophile performance for $200. In which case go into the garage and pull out all of those high end components you bought in the 70's when a good cartridge was $300 +! ... show more

I can’t imagine how the 4 and 5 star reviews were possible. This is not a particularly high quality machine. We bought this for my grandaughter’s birthday. Upon assembling and plugging it in, we found that the procedure for operating the device was lacking. It took several tries to get the platter to spin. Then we discovered that there was no auto queuing of the tone arm to the record and that it must be manually raised, positioned, and lowered. Although the tone arm had been balanced and then weight adjusted per the instructions, setting the tone arm in placed required very gentle action with the raise/lower mechanism, which was not smooth at all. The sound was not spectacular or even just good. It reminded me of the quality from an old transistor radio. ... show more
