These aids work nicely providing clear sound with several adjustments that can be tweaked for the environment you are in. For those of us who deal with compromised hearing, the search for aid and assistance seems to be never ending. I can't say that these aids end that search for me, but they are definitely a significant improvement over the standard amplifiers I have tried in the past. These aids are super comfortable to wear. I only have hearing loss in a single ear, but after inserting the one I needed, I forgot I had it in. The hearing was not like "natural" hearing (we have to understand and accept that that will be the case no matter what type of device we use), but it was a step above the tinny sound of simple amplifiers. I didn't experience any shrieking (for which I am sincerely grateful). The different modes actually did make a difference. I tested that feature while singing. Understand, I am not a singer in any type of professional sense of the term, but I always enjoyed singing around the house (mostly when I was alone). Since my hearing degraded, I can no longer hear enough to stay on key. Using this aid, I could once again hear the notes. This may seem insignificant for most people, but for me it was almost like reclaiming a favorite activity which I had unwillingly relinquished. The button controls of the aid are quite straightforward and easy to navigate. I'm not a huge fan of the stabilizer bar. While I recognize its purpose, it is too long for my preference. I am tempted to "trim" it to a more acceptable length, but I don't want to do anything to the device which could impact its performance. I appreciate the help the aid provides. I know that previous reviewers have criticized the price of this item. It currently is listed at $249.99 with an additional $100 coupon to apply to the purchase. Compared to many amplifiers which sell for close to $100, the added features offered with these aids make this price point a reasonable value. 4 stars. ... show more

    • Quality construction and style. But I was expecting more...
Considering the price, I was expecting a little more than this. I'm not sure what they were talking about with regard to "noise cancellation" because the sound quality, although louder, was quite "tinny" and echo-y. These were comfortable to wear and hide discreetly behind the ear. The control switch makes sense after a few times of using it. The charging case is well thought out. It requires a firm grip to insert and remove the devices... but at least you know that they were correctly seated in position, and the LED lights on the front of the charger case let you know that they are re-charging. Rather than being a true "RIC" (receiver in the ear) amplifier, these are much like the style that my grandparents had: a hollow tube delivers the sound into the ear... because the speaker is inside the device itself. Although it's an "old-school" approach, they are much more modern with how small they are. Someone who has hearing loss and who has no other option will find these to be a blessing. But there are better options out there if sound quality is important to you. The person who would benefit from this will be an elderly loved one of mine who lives in a nursing home. Hearing aids are ALWAYS lost or misplaced (by residents and staff) or they fall out in bedding and get washed by mistake, and that's an expensive loss for normal Rx hearing aids. But something like this will provide enough amplification to make conversation with your loved one easier and if it gets misplaced, it's not as devastating as losing a high-end hearing aid. The charging port on the bottom of the case is a USB "micro" connection (not USB-C) so you'll need to use the included USB charging cable. --- No big deal, but it's worth mentioning if you were planning on traveling with just ONE usb-C cable for all your other devices (phone, music, tablet, etc.) Summary, it's not terrible, but it's not wonderful... it's right there in the middle, so my assessment is simply an honest "C" or 3-star rating. --- You'll need to decide what your priorities are and how that matches up with your budget. ... show more

These hearing amplifiers have very good sound quality. I would rate them at a 9. I have been wearing hearing aids for over 20 years. There is no Bluetooth or app to control them. It's all done manually. I now use over the counter (OTC) because of the cost and they are just as good. All controls are done by using the volume + or -. One thing about over the ear (OTE) style is that if the ear piece comes out of your ear it's most likely still hanging on your ear. This is a very good set of hearing amplifiers and I recommend them. This is for people who are new to using hearing devices: Start by wearing them 2 hours a day for the first week and increase two hours each additional week till you are comfortable wearing them. This will give your brain and ears time to get used to them. Please be patient because it can take up to 2 months. Also they are eligible for return, refund or replacement within 30 days of receipt. You will know by then if these are right for you. You really have nothing to lose but some time. ... show more

Does a decent job. Sound quality is quite tinny and sometimes echoey. Controls are a bit fiddly but simple. Voice isolation was spotty, sometimes really helping, other times not so much. They do a great job with bird song though! Very comfortable. A selection of ear pieces are included. No Bluetooth features. Charges over a micro USB socket, 5V at 200mA. A short USB-A to micro USB cable is included but no charger. Any USB-A brick will work with these. It's 2024 though, would have liked to see USB-C here instead of the fussy micro USB. The charger base is pretty good but you have to be sure to fully insert the hearing aids to get them to make contact. There are LEDs to indicate success. ... show more
