  • Highly recommend. Quality product.
Received this order yesterday, a bit earlier than expected. 1) Individual Packets were made of strong material and were packed tightly in container bucket. 2). No packets were damaged or open. 3) Included were a total of 22 packets, 2 items in 3 packets and the remaining 16 items in 2 packets each. 4) Servings on packets varied between 4 and 8 servings per packet for a total of 120 servings. 5) Because of original tight packing, I had one packet left over when repacking so I decided to cook it - Creamy Alfredo Pasta. Followed directions precisely. Pasta ended up well cooked and creamy if a bit bland. Not “delicious” but certainly acceptable, especially in an emergency environment. I added salt to my portion prior to eating. I highly recommend. Quality product. ... show more

  • Make sure you have hot water
Unlike a lot of MREs, these are freeze dried. Therefore, it will take boiling water to activate them and rehydrate them. Thankfully, it becomes with a guide in order to ensure that you have the proper amount of water for the exact amount of food that you want. Each item has a specific nutritional value so you can get the calories you need in an emergency; as well on the box there are a nutrition facts labels for each item in the box. Each bag is enough to feed one to two people so it is decent size per bag. I have about six sitting in my house so I consider a great value for the money. It last like 25 years. One of these days just for the heck of it I’m gonna open one and see if it tastes as good as or better than the ready to go MRE. But just remember this is survival food. It’s not gonna be cucumber sandwiches at the Ritz lol ... show more

  • Pretty Good!
Purchased this along with some camping equipment, since this seems to be the best value for this area of the market from my research. Arrived well packed just as you expect, no complaints here. We tested a few different ones, I will say definitely have a pot of water on a rolling boil BEFORE you add the meal. I eyeball the amount of water and over estimate so that way I can just boil it down a little more if I added too much. Made for some easy and tasty dinners, you can dress these up if you want. The taste is fine but I recommend to add maybe a little more salt to it. At least it is an excellent base for you to season to your liking and fits a variety of different dietary needs. The rice dinners take the longest so be aware if you opt for that first it may take quite some time to get it to be an enjoyable texture. Overall I highly recommend these! ... show more

  • Ripped packages
Everything looked great and smelled great too.....wait, smelled great??? The bucket was shipped in a cardboard box and when I opened the box I smelled chicken alfredo!!! Upon closer inspection, 2 of the bags had been punctured by the internal ribbing of the bucket. I believe this is due to packages getting tossed around during shipping. The ribs are relatively sharp. I am lucky that more packages were not ripped. It smelled great, and pretty sure it will taste great too!!! ... show more

  • Good food kit in case of emergency
Ever since covid, I have kept and periodically refresh a stock of canned food and other non perishable food supplies in case of emergency. I figured something like this would be good to keep around long term in case I ever forget to replace any expired products from my stash. I looked at several food kits and they all have various complaints but this one seemed like the sweet spot between price, amount of food provided, and overall reviews. It arrived a day ahead of schedule which was a surprise for a heavy item like this. It is well packaged and the handle on the bucket makes it super easy to move around. I opened the lid and there was no powder or any leaked product from any broken bags. I can't vouch for the quality of the food and I will hopefully never have to use it, but I like the peace of mind having this around in case of a major emergency. ... show more

  • Top very loose - does not seal & one of the food bags is missing the year for manufactured date.
I received this product in a strangely boxed way. There was a large portion of cardboard taping the lid partially to the bucket & then the entire thing was in the box upside down. When I unpacked it, the top easily fell off & the sealed food envelopes spilled out (I had it at a downward angle to get it out of the outer box, did not know top was loose). I question if I received someone's return (the tab is still on) or the lid just does not shut? The top remains very loose. I looked through the food packages, one of the potato soup envelopes has a manufactured date of May, but the year is blurred off & illegible. (I took this out of the rotation.) Disgusted with the fact the lid does not shut. I wanted the lid to securely shut to prevent critters from gnawing into the bags while in storage. Yes, I can transfer it to another bucket I own w tightly secure lid, but for this expense I expected better quality. I researched reviews & videos for this product prior to purchase. Disappointed - expected better. ... show more
