  • The screen is everything
CPU: Intel 12th Gen RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 3070 Ti Style: QHD OLED 240Hz
I'm an Apple user, PC laptops are bad. I had been maintaining a top end MBP for playing Windows games -- but that machine entered a deep discharge state and if I'm honest, was never an appropriate gaming laptop (because in their own way, Apple laptops are also bad). I looked at most of the machines on the market and yikes -- the quality is garbage. Bad form factor, bad materials, more time spent making everything into a gimmicky black plastic rainbow than making a usable and attractive tool. Razer does a pretty good job here though. The industrial design and build quality are about 80% of what I'd expect, the keyboard is very good, the power supply is goo. The trackpad is pretty much shit compared to an Apple trackpad but way better than most. And there's no bloatware. Razer Synapse is even pretty good. I read that the 17" Razers have better thermal management and it means they get 10% better performance than the 15" with the same hardware. I also agonized over the fact that this laptop can't do 4k. In the end, I decided it was more important to me to power a great screen well than a bad screen poorly. And I made the right decision, this thing looks great. Plays movies great too. This is by no means a top end gaming laptop. But it gets 60 fps in Cyberpunk at 1444 in Ultra (when plugged in), and that's what I wanted. Can even enable ray traced reflections if I don't mind trading off something else. I have experienced some games (Overwatch, so no big loss there) don't like to run full screen on this thing, but they'll run fine inside a full screen window instead. ... show more

  • The MacBook Pro of PC Gaming Laptops
CPU: Intel 12th Gen RAM Size: 32 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 3080 Ti Style: QHD 240Hz
I just bought my 2nd one of this 3080 ti laptop. The first one we purchased 6 months ago for my wife, and has performed amazingly over that period. I previously had a 2019 model that I passed down to my teenage son who games constantly on it to this day with 4 years of amazing performance. I’ve owned MSI, ASUS. Dell/Alienware, and this is by far the highest quality of the bunch equaling the MacBooks I’ve owned for work in design, heat performance and build quality. Pros: -Very high quality aluminum case. This is not your run of the mill plastic gaming laptop. Wouldn’t look out of place in a conference room, almost looks like a black MacBook Pro with zero logos/lettering other than the Razer trademark. -Even playing fairly demanding games, the fans barely come on, and when they do, they are far quieter than my MSI. -Screen is phenomenal for seeing dark areas and great colors/viewing angles. -3080 ti graphics with 16gb of on board video ram, +32gb of ram future proof this machine significantly. The laptop this machine replaced had a first gen 8gb 3080 and this card destroys it. -Wi-Fi seems to be extremely fast, much faster than the laptop I replaced it with. Cons: -Screen is gorgeous, with great viewing angles, dark contrast, and amazing colors, but could have slightly better overall brightness. Almost reminds me of a OLED TV. -Price, but you’re paying for a premium product and one that I’ve found after 4+ years of owning Razer laptops, is well worth it. I will continue to give Razer my money if they keep this level of performance/quality up, and I was able to buy it significantly on sale ships/sold from Amazon LLC. ... show more

  • WORTH EVERY PENNY
CPU: Intel 12th Gen RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 3070 Ti Style: QHD OLED 240Hz
This thing is an absolute tank. UHD OLED screen makes every single video game I have on my PC look like its been remastered. I'm not joking the screen is AMAZING. The i9-12900H processor and the 3070 TI graphics card are absolute power houses. I play all my games on max settings and get 70fps or more frames always. This thing is pumping out a lot of power and processing so it WILL get hot. You need to have a good laptop cooling pad or you'll end up unnecessarily wearing out the cooling components sooner than they otherwise would. I got the turbo fan one it came up in the first few search results so I went with that 4500RPM keeps it perfectly cool never have over heating issues and always stays warm or cool to the touch with the cooling fan on the max setting. With it being winter I also open a window here and there to keep the room temp down to help as well. The RAM is the only thing I replaced. I do a lot of editing and switched out the 16GB for 64GB overclocked. The laptop itself with the configuration I have honestly it coming with 16gb isnt enough it uses 10gb or 11gb just to run the operating system. The bottom of the laptop is very easy to dismantle you don't need to apply much force at all either. so no worries for scratches. The only downside is that the ssd slots are stacked on each other so if you have a ssd stick that has chips on the bottom it'll be a tight fit which is very nerve racking so avoid that by getting one sided sticks. As for battery life (I also use this for college) its alright you'll get about an hour or hour and a half on battery life but there's plugs everywhere so its not too much of a hassle. The RGB on this thing is super cool too the colors really pop on the keyboard and the effects are so cool. The audio also is insane the speakers are THX and I'm not joking this laptop is extremely loud like its a high end beats pill. The built in webcam is also extremely clear like surprisingly clear. Last but not least its absolutely crazy how thin this laptop is its for real surprisingly thin on par with the thickness of a macbook. Yes its extremely expensive but yes its worth every penny I'm a huge razer fan now. ... show more

  • Motherboard self destructs
CPU: Intel 12th Gen RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 3070 Ti Style: QHD 240Hz
After one year, the laptop randomly shut down and couldn’t turn on. Took it to a repair place for diagnostics. It was concluded that the motherboard has gone bad after testing it with a known good charger, with test RAM, and with the battery uninstalled. A replacement motherboard for this laptop would cost $2160.99. For one year of gaming, definitely not worth the price! ... show more
