  • ROCK STEADY
Style: DV-1
Amazing, easy to use, I have a huge telezoom lens that tends to make smaller tripods slowly drift and makes it very difficult to control it. This thing is amazing, silky smooth and stays put! Unbeatable for the price!!

  • Love the DV-1 video tripod
Style: DV-1
This DV-1 tripod is my my first video tripod, though I have bought many tripods for still photography (analog and digital) over the past several decades. I bought this video tripod to use with a new Full HD camcorder to shoot video of my grandson playing soccer. I like the weight of this tripod and I find that using one hand to push down on the camcorder helps add smoothness when panning vertically or horizontally. The legs are easy to extend with the flip of only three knobs. The head has a bowl adjustment where the user loosens the head from the bottom to level the head quickly and easily with a built in level bubble even if the ground or leg adjustments are not perfectly level. If I let go of the control handle, the fluid tripod head does not drop down like a still camera tripod head tends to do. I can let go of the control handle when using the camcorder and grab my DLSR without worrying about damaging the camcorder. The fluid head is strong enough to prevent a DLSR such as my Nikon D7500 DX or D750 FX DLSR, either with a 70-300 mm lens, from dropping when I let go of the control handle. This is probably a mis-understanding on my part but I thought both the vertical and horizontal movements would be adjustable fluid dampened, however, only the vertical movement is adjustable fluid dampened. The horizontal movement can have resistance added by tightening an adjustment, but being mechanical friction based instead of fluid based, tends to be not smooth. The vertical adjustable fluid dampened movement is very smooth. The bag seene sturdy and the fact the rubber feet can be tightened by hand to extend built in spikes which dig into soil or grass, is handy. ... show more

  • Great Investment!
Style: DV-1
The tripod works great! The adjustable head mount with level helps immensely when filming on uneven surfaces. Head mount rotation is smooth and versatile. The legs are sturdy, easy to adjust and frame overall is well built. No complaints! It is used in outdoor media and commercial filming applications. ... show more

  • Sturdy tripod with the muscle to hold heavy gear
Style: DV-1
I bought this tripod to support my DSLR with a long and heavy lens -- Canon 6d with Tamron 150-600 G2. The lens is just over 2kg, so a lightweight tripod has a real hard time supporting it, especially when I point high into the sky (I'm planning to use it for the eclipse on 8 April). This tripod holds steady in position. I would wish that the horizontal pan tension could be adjusted ... vertical has a nice adjustable brake, but the horizontal pan has a lock screw that does not accommodate variable tension; when I tighten it lightly, it pans unevenly with a little grinding. Not that the regular pan tension is bad, but I do like to be able to vary the resistance. It's also real difficult to get the handle locked tightly in position; while the axis it pivots on locks down nicely with a toothed fitting, the handle still rotates inside the collar and I literally cannot tighten it enough to stop that rotation without running the risk of stripping something. These are small things, which is why I gave the tripod four stars and not five. But the basic construction is solid and I believe will serve me well. I'll report back with eclipse photos in a couple weeks, weather permitting ;{) ... show more

  • Listen...
Style: DV-1
I've seen 800 dollar Tripods in Adorama. and this is for sure one of them with the price reduced. VERY VERY VERY sturdy. I shot a music video of myself with this. It can hold my HUGE camera which is about 9 pounds after everything is attached to it or more. Adjusting heights is a piece of cake which its locking latch system. Makes everything easy. The way that it feels!!! oh man, when adjusting the head, it has a huge base for a huge camera like mine. not like those cheap tripods. Very wide and very rigged. when it locks, it locks. The camera stays in place. No worries of it slowly falling down. Nothing to that effect. Huge long handle for adjusting is what I needed especially for my big camera. Make it way easier. Leverage is perfect on this. Nice black and red color. I was able to afford this as well. That was one of the most important things about it. and its a nice size and have good weight to it. Doesn't feel soft and flimsy. ... show more

  • Absolutely fab
Style: DV-1
This is what I call a tripod. Beautifully made and a gorgeous silky smooth rotating head and ball. It’s a very serious piece of kit and an absolute essential material for any optical enthusiast. Like it says, it is professional and I utterly glad I bought it. The base plate is ideal for larger video cameras and the price is more than reasonable. ... show more

Very happy with this purchase. This can easily handle the weight of the heavy lens, and the head movement of the camera is nice and smooth. Highly recommend.

  • Quality Video Tripod at Very Reasonable Price!
Style: DV-1
Spoiler alert. I really like this tripod. It arrived well packaged and in a quality padded carry case. The tripod was in a plastic bag and the handle was too. The knobs and levers on the tripod are solid and not flimsy. Coming from a heavy duty Manfrotto tripod and pistol grip head I’ve had forever, it took me a few minutes to get used to the use of a fluid head. Primarily the knobs to tighten/loosen the pan/tilt functions. But I like the options. The tension is sufficient and allows smooth movement with enough resistance to avoid inconsistent panning/tilting. The legs are sturdy and the knobs to tighten / loosen the legs seem to have just the right grip. The rubber feet can be adjusted to expose a spiked foot for outdoor use. Overall the tripod sits sturdy and is able to confidently hold my rig (canon r5 with cage on 15mm rails, 28-70 lens, v-mount battery, monitor and microphone). This purchase was a win! ... show more
