  • Not as intimidating as you might think
Great foundation repair kit. Read the instructions a couple of times and plan ahead. Its not as intimidating as you might think. Had a crack in poured foundation about 13 years old, was there since the house was built and leaking slow. Finally got around to fixing it and the process was pretty easy. I had an 8 foot crack from floor to top of foundation from 1/16" wide to 1/4 in places near the top. Couple of tips, some others have mentioned: Wear 2 pairs of gloves its way easier to change gloves Buy more gloves - you will need them Have paper towels and old rags ready this stuff does make a mess Warm up the injection foam in a tub of hot tap water for 30 mins prior to injection Use just a little but of part A/B at a time and go slow to ensure no leaks around ports When placing ports start from bottom and work your way up, when pressing ports on make sure you dont clog the hole and smooth out the excess that squeezes out around the port. This makes the next step easier and prevents a lip of epoxy around the port Use a pump garden sprayer to flush the ports very well. Did not try the bottle supplied I knew it would be too challenging After placing ports from bottom up start covering crack and ports from bottom up as well. Dont start on the last port freshly placed because the epoxy needs a few mins to set up and moving the ports can cause them to shift, start from the bottom again on the ports that have had a few mins to set up Overall this kit worked very well and saved me some cash. Had rain a few days after completion and no leaks. I used about 75% of the epoxy and injection foam on my set up details above. Your mileage may vary. ... show more

  • Works Better than I imagined
Our house is 3 years old now and has had a crack from settling that had been leaking for a while. It was about an 1/8th inch on top and only a hairline at the bottom of the wall. The settling has stopped and the crack is stable so I injected it with this and it worked great. it takes a long time to do it right, but as long as you a follow the directions and don't rush you won't have any problems. I had 0 leakage out of the port holes. When i checked the visible part of the foundation outside the next morning, the foam had worked its wait through the 10" concrete wall. - If you have wider cracks, you might need 2 of these kits. - I got some of the polyurethane on my skin, and was able to get it off with some denatured alcohol. - Make sure the epoxy coating is thick and don't force it into the cracks. The epoxy is viscous enough that it should be able to bridge significant gaps without forcing it in to the cracks. - One you get all the gaps carefully coated over, go over the whole thing again with another skim coat and make this coat a little bit wider, mounding the epoxy over the port bases. The crack i had to fill was a full 8' tall and i still have about a 1/4 of the epoxy left. ... show more

  • Good stuff.... worked very well
UPDATE... I fixed the cracks a few months ago and we have had some heavy soaking rains. Not one drop of water has leaked from the cracks I repaired. The cracks have been leaking for 25 years and a little river would form in the basement from the leakage..... The basement is officially dry after 25 years.... I bought 2 of these kits to repair to basement wall cracks that have been leaking for over 25 years. The first crack was a major leaker and this kit completely stopped the water problem. On the first crack I had spaced the ports about 8 inches apart and I had somewhat of a harder time to get the material to flow out of the upper port. On the second crack I fixed, I placed the ports 6 inches apart and it was much easier to get the material to flow out of the upper port. Items that need change.. - The epoxy sticks in the second kit were thinner than the first kit, and they broke almost immediately when I tried to remove the epoxy out of the container. - The second container came with a wide spatula and the first kit came with a narrow spatula. The narrow spatula was easier to work with at getting the epoxy around the ports. - I didn't wear the rubber gloves on the first kit I used. I got the material on my hands and it took two weeks for the crack material to wear off my hands. Wear the gloves because this material sticks to your hands like concrete. It will not wash off, it needs to wear off. - I has gotten concerned when the tube only compressed half its length in the caulk gun.... I thought something was wrong. It turns out that the caulk tube has two chambers and it will only compress half its length in the caulk gun... This needs to be mentioned... -I had a 20+ year old caulk gun.... I opened the tube before I placed it in the caulk gun. When I tried to insert the crack repair tube in the caulk gun, the nozzle did not fit. I needed to pry open the end of the caulk gun before the tube nozzle would fit in the gun. Make sure that the cracker sealer tube fits in your caulk gun before you open it... The epoxy sticks very well to the basement wall.. I did chisel it off the wall but it does take some time.... I had several different with chisels and the narrow chisel worked better. Also if you hit the epoxy with a hammer.... the blow from the hammer will crack and loosen the epoxy and it will be a little easier to remove the epoxy from the wall. Just want to let you know that the concrete wall will be a little rough when you chisel away the epoxy. REMEMBER TO WEAR THE SAFETY GLASSES... PIECES OF CONCRETE AND EPOXY WILL FLY... I places some newspapers under the plastic bag to catch the excess material that fell on the floor... This made for a much cleaner job... The material does expand quite a bit and it completely filled the wall crack to the outside of the basement. With the way the material expands, I doubt if these cracks will ever leak again. I did flush the top crack with a spray bottle as they instructed... but I also flushed all the ports with plenty of water to remove any debris in the crack... Bottom line I was very impressed... If you hire someone to fix your cracks in the basement, expect to pay at least $350 bucks per crack... This kit does the same job for a lot less... MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR TIME AND PREP THE WALL CORRECTLY AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WEAR THE GLOVES.. ... show more

  • worked perfectly
Had just enough to do 10 feet of wall. Was worried I would run out of epoxy or polyurethane foam but due to the foam expansion the job was finished. Called support for my second job. They called me back in 2 hours. Had an issue with the foam not coming out of second port. They recommended three full squeezes on the caulk gun for each port and waiting 5 minutes between each port to let the foam expand. Both kits worked as they should but the Applied Technologies had more supplies than this kit. Additional supplies included corner and flat ports. caulk gun. more mixing paddles and gloves for only $4 more. ... show more
