  • Great system
I really like this system. It works well and seems to be high quality. I live that I can turn it on and off. I bought another cheaper system that broke in less than a month so I'm about to buy this product again.

  • Best off grid solar pump
We have a place in the mountains and have started planting trees and berries - and hope to expand the garden soon. However we aren’t there full time yet so needed a way to water when we’re gone, and there is no electricity down to that garden area. So we bought a 255gal water tank, ran the drip hose and planned to use solar to water. We tried 3 different solar water pumps, but none had enough pressure to get water to everything, even with the tank uphill and gravity on our side. Well, we finally ordered the Raddy pump and it was amazing from day 1! Instructions aren’t super, but it’s not too hard and it only took a bit of sun and it powered on easily and was very strong. We have 2 lines, split Y, and 10 ports, all spaced up to 25 feet from the tank/pump. Immediately the pump began watering with great pressure! This thing is not just for your patio plants- it’s capable of a bigger garden and is also easy to program! Love it and if we expand and need another I will just get another Raddy!!! 5🌟 ... show more

  • Not perfect, but very good overall
I purchased what appeared to be a similarly sized unit, at about half the price, from a site that sounds like Ah Lee something. Running both units side by side is instructive. The Raddy comes with a solar panel that is about twice as large as the other unit and seems more sturdy. The Raddy comes with a larger diameter tubing to run to your plants. When I run the Raddy for 15 minutes, it pumps about three gallons of water, give or take. I had initial difficulty setting it up (the timer/control part), but it has been working fine. The cheaper unit pumps about one gallon of water in 15 minutes, which is not nearly enough for an outdoor garden. Max watering is 2x a day (12 hour intervals). So, for the price, the Raddy is the better choice in my opinion. Things I do not like about the Raddy: not really outdoor waterproof, so I have covered the Raddy with plastic ziploc bags. No easy way to replace the battery. No easy way to replace the pump should that fail. I would really like a stronger unit that could pump 3x a day instead of just 2x. I do like that the Raddy's battery can initially be charged to max using a USB cable; not the case with the cheaper version. If the Raddy were a little more rugged, more flexible with scheduling, and actually IP64 waterproof for outdoor use it would be great. Still, for the money, it is much better than cheaper knock-offs from you know who. If you can get this for $50-60, it's a good deal imo. It's nice not to have lug water all over. ... show more

  • Great cheap system for small area gardening
Works well and easy to program. The supply line to water tank is flexible and you need to be careful not to kink. Also, to prevent continuous siphoning a small hole in the line using a needle above water level is needed.

  • Genius 2000IQ
So if you have plants and work 24/7 this is the product for you. Hot dog your plants will never go thirsty again. I put a 5 gallon bucket with 3 tablespoons of liquid fertilizer and it feeds the plants for 5 days. I have a total of 17 plants hooked up to this and it runs once a day. Not sure who invented this but works great. The Solar is a nice touch too if you live off grid. I highly recommend this product! Easy to set the times too! ... show more

  • Excellent customer service
The customer service person was very responsive to a problem we encountered, and promptly replaced a part. Other than that problem, everything worked and our plants stayed alive on our sunny deck during our two months away!

  • It's a plant saver
I went way overboard with patio and deck plants this year and ended up spending a lot of time every day watering. Finally I hit on this solar irrigation system and I wish I had done this long ago. It's super easy to set up: 1. Find a suitable reservoir for enough water to last several waterings. We have an abundance of 15 gallon plastic drums from the horticultural oil that we use in our vineyard. Depending on the number of plants you have and how often they need water, you may get by with a 5 gallon bucket. 2. Locate the solar panel in a spot that gets a fair amount of sun. Ours gets about 6 hours a day and has never run out of power. 3. Attach the controller to a stable surface near the solar panel and where you can set up the water reservoir. We were able to attach it under our deck overhang, which will protect it from the elements, although that's probably not even necessary. It was just an out-of-the-way place where it won't get hit by lawn equipment. 4. Set up your plants the way you want them. Lay out the main drip line. Cut the main line and install the Ts; cut short sections to each plant and put emitters in each one. We were able to slip the main line down into the space between two deck boards and run the individual lines up the sides of the pots where they are concealed by the foliage. The whole system is practically invisible. 5. Program the controller, which is super easy and very intuitive. During the heat spell, we had it running for 15 minutes twice a day. When the weather cooled off, it took less than 2 minutes to reprogram to 10 minutes once a day. I know most of these instructions are in the manual, but I wanted to outline them here to show readers how easy it is to use this system. I think sometimes people are intimidated about things they have never used before, as I am myself. So, be assured that this is really, really easy and you will be so glad you have it. Our plants would not have thrived through the heat wave we had this summer if it had not been for this system. ... show more
