I haven't bought a new mattress in like 20 years. I just honestly ever thought about it... until recently. I had a back injury many years ago and while it doesn't affect me that much at all on a daily basis, I can feel it more while I'm sleeping after a long fatiguing day of MTB or long day of snowboarding. My injury was from a severe impact on my tailbone which compressed my spine, resulting in bruises between my vertebrae and a massive contusion. I only bring this up to add some insight into the comfort/support I need. So basically, if a mattress is too firm, my back will not be happy at all. I searched for about a week for a good option, but I didn't want to just dump money on something because of the brand name or assumed expectations simply because a mattress is more expensive. I figured enough advancement has been done that I should be able to find a reasonably priced option. My budget was under $1K. I almost pulled the trigger on a few options closer to that $1K mark, but then came across this on Amazon after deep searching. Most mattresses I was finding were listed Firm and very few listed as Plush or Medium Plush (which this is). I was also noticing that the comments would have a concerning number of comments which contradict the marketing description. While I do not have another experience on another new mattress to compare, I will say this mattress is darn near perfect. Top is plush, yet supportive underneath. I mostly sleep on my side and stomach and back rarely. The reason for not sleeping on my back much previously was definitely affected by the comfort of my old mattress and I find I can sleep on my back with this one very nicely. I am sleeping better and can be content knowing my back will get some actual relief and care it needs. The user reviews do matter and thanks to all who reviewed this one. It saved me a lot of unnecessarily spent cash. If you want to upgrade to a medium plush yet supportive mattress. I do think this may be the one you're after. Wow! I was TERRIFIED to purchase a boxed mattress, especially without being able to lay on and try a sample version. I have had 2 lower back surgeries, so comfort and stability are really important. This 14 inch bed is incredible. Very study. You can tell it's well made. The extra plush pillow top is so freaking comfortable. I am unable to feel any springs under me as I'm laying (I am 5'2 and 160 lbs), but I can feel that it is sturdy and going to hold up well. I researched for about a month, going over and over reviews, and I am so glad I chose this one. I set this up 12/8/23 and I will update my review later on if anything changes. ... show more

It's between the firm and soft. Great quality and very comfortable! I purchased this mattress after moving to my new apartment. I suggest open it on your own bedroom. Besides, I only let it out for 5 hours, but I feel it’s already good enough to sleep on. Recommend!

The opening is a trap. It starts to expand as soon as you start cutting the plastic. It needs a while to fully restore the foam. Extremely comfortable and a good mattress for the money.

    • I only regret not buying this mattress sooner
I've had the mattress for less than a week so I can't address its longevity. But, this mattress is a godsend. In spite of having full-blown congestion this week I am getting a much better sleep on my new mattress than I did with my old one. My lesson learned is not to ever again listen to the salesmen telling me what type of mattress I "needed to have". I used that previous mattress much longer than I should have in order to justify the cost of the thing. My nightly ritual was to wake up at 2am and again at 4am because my joints were aching. For the last few nights nothing has disturbed my sleep (other than my congestion). If I awake during the night, it is not because I have to readjust my sleeping position in order to lessen the pain. The true testament to my satisfaction is that this morning I realized I have not reached for an Aleve or used Bio-freeze first thing after waking up since using the new mattress. So, for approximately a third of the cost of the previous mattress I am getting a sound sleep. And that, is the best thing of all. ... show more
