  • Even better than the original!
Amazon was faster and cheaper than dealing with the place I purchased the stove from 6 years ago. After installing this one, I now believe the original auger motor that came with the stove was defective from the get-go because it had always made a funky, grinding sound in operation, increasing in volume and intensity every season. I've been meaning to purchase one but the price was always daunting. A few weeks ago the auger motor started squealing and clunking and not being able to perform properly and I knew it was the end of the line. A few very cold days (the pellet stove is the source of heat in this place) made the price seem suddenly less significant than having heat again. It came within a few days and was almost stupidly easy to install. You remove the auger motor cover and it's all right there. The most difficult part of the whole swap was getting the auger's allen screw to loose it's grip on the old motor shaft so I could separate them. Then it was out with the old, in with the new. The new motor came with new wires and an improved bracket in case you have the old style in your stove, but mine was the same bracket and wires so only the motor needed to be installed. When I plugged the stove in and turned on the thermostat, I panicked for a moment thinking it hadn't worked, but then I heard pellets clinking into the pot. This motor is so super quiet, I had to look in there with a flashlight and see it turning to believe it was actually working! Poof, there was fire, and my house is now toasty and cheerful again despite the winter's gloom and chill just outside the door. ... show more

  • Eaverything worked great except..
Everything worked great for my Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200 stove except that the shaft is slightly larger than the original motor. This made it almost impossible to slide into the auger. I used a micrometer and sure enough, it was larger. I was able to lightly grind the shaft down enough to make it fit but if you do not have the ability to do this, it will not work. Just an FYI for others. ... show more

  • Works great, third one that burnt up, but integral
If you could imagine a motor turning only an eight rev per run, easy to see in a hot environment it won’t last too long with an on-off continuous cycle

  • was easy to install
luckily my stove had already been converted to the new style as the conversion kit was not with the motor. Motor only shipped with pigtail conversion but not with bracket.
