This mattress is so versatile. Bought to go into our truck tent but can use in the back of suv as well. You can use as a double or single mattress, with or without pillow. Pillow area can be folded up to lean comfortably against the side of the truck bed. Yes there are four separate areas to blow up but that is what makes it so versatile. When hubby goes camping by himself, he will fold one side under and use as a single. Have not slept on it yet but expect it to be quite comfortable. Wifey wanted to set this mattress up herself and approves of it. She said she loves the colors (creamy white and teal) and that the pump inflated the different sections clearly. However, we also found it a clumsy challenge for an average-sized American woman to maneuver inflating this on her own (yeah, I supervised). Chiefly, there were two elements of setting the mattress up that were problematic: 1) the length of the charger’s cord could be longer; its shortness means one may need to crouch in the front seat, facing the rear of the vehicle while operating the pump, to make sure the charger doesn’t come unplugged. If you only have your cigarette-lighter type of car charger port in the front of the car, that’s not easy and was quite awkward in fact. 2) Wifey was so excited to set this up that she didn’t stop to read the instructions, therefore she didn’t know about the double plugs for the air holes and she struggled to fill each chamber completely, as the air flew out quickly the moment she took the pump away from the opening (so she could close it up). We know better now, of course. The reverse option for the pump works to deflate fine. The gaping pump holes are of course great for deflating everything in a hurry even without reversing the pump to deflate. The mattress itself is a good one and the sectional bits are both handy for making it fit in the back of your small SUV and make it easier to inflate. The pump does its job and looks like it can be used with other mattresses. For USD $69, I feel like the price is a bit high for the value, but my wife declared that the colors and all-in-one package make this set worth it. ... show more

    • You need to blow up this mattress in your car via the car lighter connection.
This mattress is comfortable and I like how you have the option to only blow up and use one side. I didn't think it was as comfortable as another one I have well had until my dogs' sharp nails ripped it. The issue seems to be with inflation. Both inflatable mattresses have an awkward, almost inconvenient inflation device. Neither is as simple as just putting in a pump and needle or what not and blowing it up. This particular one needs a 9V connection, hence, the car lighter connection. I had to drag this out to my car at midnight to inflate it for use with overnight guests and this will be used more indoor than outdoor. It was kind of frustrating trying to look at the directions and go by them because they are not 100% accurate in the photos. The photos show the tops of each inflation stem open and clear meaning the black attached cap inlet is open too when that's not the accurate way to do it. You lose too much air trying to close it without having that black inlet under the clear top-level inlet so you can close the stem without losing the air you just put in.     • Worst mattress ever
Do not buy this mattress! Do yourself a favor and throw a standard, inflatable Full size mattress in your car and ACTUALLY enjoy a good night's sleep. We went van camping and thought this would be a great option... Until we slept on it. I woke up the 1st night at 3am yowling in pain and couldn't go back to sleep. I was forced to sleep on it a 2nd night and woke up, again, around 3. I pushed my wife all the way over and curled up in the fetal position, which helped slightly. The 3rd night, we left the campsite and spent the night in a real bed and I threw the mattress away. My back is still in major pain and it's been a week since this trip. WORST MATTRESS EVER! ... show more

I do a lot of car camping and my last mattress finally died. I really like that this one is flocked on both sides. It was easy to inflate and kept air all night.

I had high hopes for car camping using this air mattress, but it appears to have fallen short. Before taking it out anywhere, I wanted to make sure everything was in order. I pumped both sides of the mattress and attached pillows while still inside my home, using a hand pump. If you are not familiar with the valves on this mattress, the instructions are clear and fairly comprehensive (these will save you from losing air while pumping and make it easier to release the air when you are ready to pack it up). The mattress inflated easily and fully, and the material of the mattress felt heavy duty with a velvet feel finish. I wasn't able to take the mattress out to my car at that time to make sure it fit (which was a concern since I have a compact Nissan Rogue Sport), so I left the mattress inflated in my bedroom. After a few days I noticed that it was looking a little deflated on one side, which I at first attributed to my own error so I pumped it back up and left it overnight again, but by the next morning it was deflated again. I believe that I found the source of the leak to be at the seam on one of the long sides of the mattress, where the 2 pieces (green and ivory) are fused together. I could not see a visible hole, however I could feel air moving in the vicinity when I was pushing on the mattress trying to identify the source of the leak. This product did come with repair patches as well as replacement valves, so I am hopeful that it can be fixed and will still be usable, but I was disappointed to see the leakage without ever even being slept on. ... show more
