I was a little hesitant when ordering this, as the price (80$) seemed around 50% too low for a cotton/down comforter. Even "down alternative" synthetic comforters were creeping around this price range (40-70$). However, I am quite pleased with this purchase as it is a great value with quality construction. The tag states that it is at least 75% duck down. I found no loose threads or poor stitching. Each pocket is well sealed, and puffs up a few inches uniformly. All of the pockets are evenly filled, and do not leak. I found no feathers popping through the fabric, although there were a few small fragments of feathers that flew around right after unpacking it. It does make a bit of a ruffling noise when moved since it is air filled, but that is not an issue for me. When the edges are lifted up, it lets out heat pretty quick. I find this as more of a feature than a problem though, as I don't wake up from sleep when I get too hot and roll over now. The thread count is properly labeled (233 threads) and is cotton. Many vendors lie and state something absurd like 800 or 1500 threads, when it is actually 3-4 times lower, as they are counting each winding that makes up each thread, rather than the threads themselves. There are loops to secure it to a duvet cover. I purchased a flannel one which worked out quite nicely. It is lightweight and warm, and I find it quite suitable with the ambient temperature ~60-65 F. I was previously using a synthetic poly-fill comforter that weighed twice the amount of this, but provided much less warmth and comfort. This product is much better than a synthetic product, as it does not trap in moisture or air, which can be quite irritating. It also doesn't really generate static and cling when moved. ... show more

The comforter was shoddily constructed, with plastic and human hair sewn into the seams and little or no feathers in some of the pouches. I had been contacted by Pure Down and at first they were terrific, but then they decided to be blackmailing jerks about giving me a refund, saying that they would process it through only after I rewrote my review in a positive light. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT: AVOID THIS TOXIC COMPANY! I am reporting them to Amazon and, with any luck they won't be able to do this to anyone else. ... show more

DOWN IN HAWAII?? Yes... this comforter is the answer to years of sweating uncomfortably in bed. Hawaii is nice, but nights are typically just a bit too warm for me. Sleeping on and off for years gets a bit old and running the A/C every night isn't a good option. This light-warmth comforter breathes. You may ask why I don't just use a light sheet... It's because I need some weight to my covers for sleeping, as well. In addition, I have adopted the European manner of bedding by having only the comforter with a duvet cover as the top. This product arrived early but I looked at the label and it is not what was advertised. The ad reads clearly - 75% down 25% feathers. The label reads 80% feather fiber??? 15% feathers and 5% down. I liked the comforter but it was heavier then I wanted and know that's because of the feathers rather than down which is lighter. The real disappointing thing is that I have called and written to Pure Down directly hoping they would fix this and send me the correct product and I've received no response from them. I have no choice but to return to Amazon and start over again! ... show more

Very happy with the duvet. The bed its on sleeps warm, especially since it has a 3" memory foam topper so I was looking for a blanket that would breathe better than our quilt. This helped tremendously and breathes so much better than the quilt. All the down and feathers were evenly distributed and there has been no shedding or weird smell. The loft is good. It isn't overly poofy but if it were that would mean it'd have a higher fill power than I want. Still feels like I'm sleeping under a cloud. ... show more

This is fantastic. I have a queen size bed and ordered the king size comforter. It goes down to the bed rails on both sides of the bed which is what I wanted. Nothing like having the covers move wrong and finding yourself without any, by ordering the king, this has solved that problem.

This is probably the best product I have ever bought from Amazon, bedding form. I liked it so much I bought one for my children. It is the perfect summer duvet. It is very light. It is so soft and comfortable. I bought light summer duvets from other companies like the company store, Macy's, Saks fifth Avenue, and Norstrom, None compare to this. Th is is a perfect comforter for cool weather and nice to throw over my quilts when it is colder. Looks well made, and the poplin is a tight enough weave to keep down in. No leaks and I have put it through the dryer to fluff it. Fit's over my queen very well and I actually expected it to be smaller. No odors at all.
