First one I got had the mounting plate all bent up where it was impossible to mount flat - retuned it. Second one I got wouldn't turn on at all. Used the multimeter to verify there was nothing wrong with the lugs connected to the inverter - everything checked out. Must be yet another QC problem. I'm giving Giandel one more chance - hopefully this third one won't have any problems. Never had a problem with their 12v inverters, but this 24v one has been a nightmare. QC department needs some help. Will update if no problems with third unit. [Update] Third one came in - had some minor bend in the mounting plate (but I was able to fix it). Also, the display always shows 0 watts even if powering a device under 1kw (like a phone). The kw display is working though. Since this unit technically works, I'm not gonna be sending it back. [Update] Updating from 2 to 4 stars. Giandel customer support got back to me promptly. They clarified that sometimes the Amazon warehouse has trouble carefully inspecting returns from customers and will repackage as new. Giandel assured me there's strict inspection out of their own factories. They also clarified that you won't see watts display unless the load is > 50 watts - I verified this to be true. They kindly gave me a partial refund on the 3rd unit since the plate was bent a bit. All in all, happy with the support and very happy with the inverter so far. ... show more

    • Heavy duty unit with good power, connections and runs cool

I am under powering this unit right now with 300ah of battery and 200a bms. I will upgrade my battery bank soon but for now I will not run anything too crazy. Inverter runs great powering my coach and occasional microwave, tv etc. I am using 4/0 copper cable and its cool to the touch.

This one has been installed, and, because of previous experience with inverters, I delayed "turning it on" for more than a week to give me time to double check and triple check the wiring...     • Was sent the 3000 watt model.
So I bought the 2000 and I received a 3000 unit, old stock and discontinued maybe. Tried to contact CS with some concerns, the soft start, idle or low power demand output is around 102-103 volts, load a couple hundred watts it bumps up to 106 to 107 volts. It didn't put out enough voltage to activate my 3 way AIM relay switch. The wattage output meter is way low 455 watts actual while displaying 260 watts and the battery voltage meter is a little high, .2 volts. I purchased for off grid camp expanding solar from 650 watts to 1830 watts. The idea is to charge main batteries at 24 volts with 40 amp mppt controller with 1180 watt array and charge a well pump 12 volt battery pack with a 30 amp mppt controller AND the 24 volt main with the inverter 20 amp pmw controller from the 650 watt array. The 30 amp mppt controller will top off the 12 volt well pump battery while the inverter 20 amp will charge the 24 volt main with the surplus power not used . Yes that is one solar array, two controllers and two battery packs with different voltages. Surprisingly the inverter is performing well and will see how it performs when it runs for a month straight during hunting camp. My only complaint really is the plastic battery terminal connection nuts for the pmw charge controller input. The small battery connection studs at the rear should be 5/16 instead of 1/4 but they will work. The red and black plastic nuts have a small metal threaded insert but will not hold up. What size nut would replace these failures waiting to happen? The Charger quit working twice while testing because of these weak connection points. I can see why they put the plastic connectors there because of the common ground terminal was placed right next to the positive input terminal and I'm sure that is a shock or two waiting to happen when it's changed to metal nuts. Will have to find an insulator to put on the common ground. Lastly, there was no remote switch included with this unit, pretty sure there was supposed to be one with this unit as well as the 2000 watt unit it was supposed to be. I have thought about returning it for the proper one ordered, haven't heard from the CS email in Australia to see what their thoughts are. This unit is to replace an old Whistler 1500 watt 12 volt unit that is bullet proof. I hope this one performs as good if not better than old faithful. It will continue serving as backup. UPDATE: So I have this unit hitched up to a 1830 pva tired into 450 Ah's of battery and it works better than most I tried. Little disappointed it did not have the remote assembly and have to turn the unit on/off from the inverters remote location instead of inside the camp. I have emailed customer service with no response. That is disappointing but the works great running an off grid camp. Follow up, CS did send a remote and I had to make a much longer than the 15' cable for the 50' run I had to go. The right connectors, a fifty foot cable and a set of crimpers and it works like a charm. ... show more

    • So Far So good and the power is clean

been in service now for a week and best i can tell with out a scope is my digital clock is keeping time this alone tells me the power is clean some inverts will make the time run slow and loose up to a hour or more a day. Power demands are working just fine and the voltage is 121 and holds there pretty well. Voltage Max verified 16 volts is the shut off for this inverter and 15.9 is ok to run. Why would i wont this voltage? Lithium-Ion 18650 cells. Yes finally an inverter that can handle 95% of the voltage that a 4S pack can have. Ive near doubled the capacity being able to almost fully charge the batteries and not fully charging means the cells will have a longer life only charging to 95% of max charge is fine with me. Most normal inverters will only allow up to 15.2 volts and they shut down for over voltage ive got one as a spare that shuts down at 15 volts which is totally useless for lithium-ion 4S. My set up for voltage range is: 13 volts automatic fall back charge starts for low sun days 1000 watts in solar with a not so conventional 20 amp buck converter CC-CV this must have a fan and more heat sink to run at 22 amp constant MAX or it will fail by over heating and exploding the caps on the board the inductor get incredibly HOT or one of the mosfets over heats and fails ive also had one of the traces on the board to a mosfet burn out and had to fix it and replace the mosfet. Folks ive burnt up over 10 of these to learn what works and what dont! Now ive had 2 of these working fine for the last several months one for fall back charge and one for solar charge. 15.9 volts is the high voltage stop point which is much better than my old inverter at 15.2 volts shut down. ... show more

It is big it works not much else to say. I got this because I had the 1200w 24v dc inverter that got spanked to 1100w every night for charging my car. It's pushing all night so I'm figuring on this 3000 being the same. It's been used at 1000w to 2800w.
