I got this since we have harder water and I wanted to help my inflatable hot tub last longer. It works pretty well and you can feel the difference when you get in. The water really does feel "softer". I generally drain my tub after each use since it's so small but if you were going to keep the same water you'll probably still need water treatment chemicals. Given regular chemicals are not generally water softeners this is a good addition. I like it that you can simply add as much as you prefer/like and not overtreat. It's an easy chemical to use and dissolves pretty quickly. At times I've dissolved some in a small bucket and then poured it into the tub. That way I know it gets mixed. ... show more

I just replaced the water in hot tub and added some of this to it. It seems to have softened the water. There's not much a fragrance at all, and to me that's a good thing. There is a very slight 'clean' scent, but very minimal, and it's a darn sight better than a chlorine/bromine odor. Perhaps this has actually cut down on that bromine odor. ... show more
