Features

  • The SD330 was designed by Todd Sucherman of Styx. These sticks are similar to a 5B, but with a modified acorn-shaped tip. This stick is great if you like a large diameter, but light weight.

Maple is a very light wood which allows for a large diameter stick without the weight. Small sticks are ultra light for precision and subtlety.

Owned and operated by D'Addario & Co., the Houston, Texas based ProMark produces products used globally by the greatest drummers and percussionists in the world, including Neal Peart, Phil Collins, Simon Phillips, Ringo Starr, and many more. • Great Sticks, With A Caveat
Style: Todd Sucherman
I’m typically not a Promark person, but I wanted to try some maple sticks because I’ve been annoyed with how inconsistent hickory sticks have been lately. They’re either really light and flexible, or extremely dense. They’re all over the map as far as feel. I had a chance to use the Todd Sucherman model sticks on a session and a gig, and was extremely pleased with the feel. The only problem being that they are ridiculously expensive. $18 for one pair of sticks is absurd, so I looked for a more reasonably priced alternative, which turns out to be the Vater 5B Sugar Maple. For all intents and purposes, these are identical to the Promarks for less than half the price. So if you really like Promark, the Sucherman model is great. But if you can’t justify the price tag, check out the Vaters. ... show more

  • Best drum sticks
Style: Claus Hessler
After having bought in store and replacing many times I’ve switched to purchasing online. You always have to replace drumsticks, but getting these is far more convenient.

  • Nice drumsticks
Style: Todd Sucherman
These are nice drumsticks if you like a bigger stick that is also light and fast. Maple also has a little less attack on cymbals.

  • I love these sticks, and came right back to buy some more!
Style: Claus Hessler
Generally, I don't like celebrity drummer signature sticks because they cost extra and have a tendency to be discontinued without notice. I've made an exception for these Claus Hessler sticks because the length, the diameter, the weight, the balance, the grip coating, the taper, and the tip are 100% perfect for my playing. The Firegrain is pretty, but I think it's essentially an aesthetic gimmick. ProMark's quality is exceptional and they have a great customer loyalty program. ... show more

  • Great sticks, just not for me.
Style: Todd Sucherman
Drum stick’s are a very personal choice, what one loves another may hate. That’s why they make so many sizes in different woods. These sticks have a great feel. The diameter and length are really nice and very comfortable, but I’ve been playing with oak sticks for so long that they feel to light, which makes me feel like they will break. They have not broken to my delight, but I find myself holding back a little bit because I am afraid they will. I am not giving up on them, If they can make it through Todds set list with STYX they will probably survive my practice room. I just need to get used to them. ... show more
