Great little projector! Extremely easy to use. I take it camping and put a movie on outdoors for the kids while the adults are at the fire. It has an okay speaker, but I just connect a portable speaker and boom kids are entertained!

    • Great picture quality for the price, loud fan
Having come from owning $1,000+ projectors in the past, I was curious to see how technology had improved the bottom end of the market in the last 10 years. I am frankly quite impressed. I bought this projector at the behest of my wife who wanted the grandkids to have outdoor movies on the porch during the summer, so it did not have to be anything fancy. The picture quality is great, and that's coming from a former broadcast engineer. Colors and contrast are very natural out of the box for showing movies, I have not yet played with any picture settings as they were acceptable to me on first viewing. I would happily use this projector for serious movie watching or episodic streaming. You do not need a lot of brightness to emulate a cinema experience at home. On our outdoor screen, we watched an older movie (the Sandlot) and a newer movie (The Greatest Showman) and both looked good. I'd say the screen was about 120" diagonal. (a white bed sheet stretched on to a photographic backdrop stand with the wrinkles steamed out of it before each viewing.) The thing you need to know if you are coming from fancier projectors is there is no zoom, so there's only one place it can physically be located for a given screen size. Like others have said, there is no physical keystone adjustment so if you correct for it digitally, you may still end up with soft focused corners as there is no tilt shift correction. Just put it as close to vertical and horizontal center as possible and all will be good. I had no problems whatsoever, propping it up on a box on top of a table behind the viewers. In the future, I plan on making a custom projector table to hold it, or finding an older one made for a slide projector, with adjustable legs. The only physical adjustment on this projector is focus. It has both Bluetooth and analog audio outputs so it's fairly versatile in what you can connect it to. We connected it to a bluetooth speaker which was the most convenient thing to do for a casual setup. The remote is good and the various input options are good, I only needed HDMI for the Roku box or the Blu Ray player so I haven't tried any of the online connected options nor connected this projector to the internet via WiFi. My only complaint is that the fan is loud. Fans are a necessary evil with projectors, but this one has a small, high speed fan that is quite noisy. Outdoors with the movie playing and the audio turned up, it's not that big of a problem, but indoors and it may be more noticeable. That's the only reason I'm not giving it five stars. Higher end projectors typically have fans with adjustable speeds depending on temperature requirements, but this one seems to run at full tilt all the time.     • Not a "smart projector"
I just opened the box and since the product description says "smart projector", I was expecting to load apps such as Netflix, YouTube, etc. There is no mention of this functionality in the manual. I am considering immediate return of the projector. Edit: it works pretty well with my Apple Tv.

    • No keystone correction
I had intentions to use the projector with a golf simulator. Ideally... simulator projectors require mounting on the ceiling in a place that avoids club swing and golf balls. This requires a higher location and projector down tilt angle towards the impact screen. Unfortunately with this "okay" but cheap projector, even a small tilt causes the image to be a useless trapezoid... Don't buy this for a golf simulator... ... show more

What touches me the most is the after-sales service! I accidentally broke the remote control once. I contacted the after-sales service and they helped me solve the problem super quickly, which made me feel very considerate!
